Hopefully they play their hilarious high line against us like normal

I really don’t understand this Man City fall off.

Has there been a team so dominant for so long that has randomly just dropped off so badly before?

It’s hardly random. Its a culmination of like three years of non stop football with quite a small squad mixed with poor recruitment and waning motivation.

This would be City's 6th defeat in 8 league games, and annoyingly for us, 4 of those have come against Man Utd, Villa, Tottenham and Brighton, probably the 4 teams we will be sharing 5-9th place with. Could probably just about add Bournemouth to that list as well.

At what point is Guardiola’s job under threat? He seems to have no strategy to turn this around outside of buying his way out.

Are they going to spend £150m+ this month in an attempt to arrest the slide.

Man Utd kinda, not that dominant though. And not random ;)

Does a better coach than Pep exist?

I don’t know about that man. They’ve literally dominated most competitions for years and now look dreadful.

Some of their recruitment has been questionable I suppose but they’ve made some decent ones too.

Nothing pointed to this happened or explains why for me.

Might be under threat if he regelated them. Might.

Unclear but if he no longer knows what to do and can’t modify his style, there’s an argument there to made for a change.

Such a loss of form wouldn't be tolerated by the likes of Liverpool, Real or the Milan clubs. Pep does seem to be getting something of any easy ride off the press. ??? Remember - we lost 3 or 4 games in a row and it's 'crisis at Newcastle'.

They haven't refreshed the squad anywhere near enough. They are obviously lauded but the squad management and recruitment has been embarrassing.

Are you surprised that a coach that's won 6 out of 7 titles is given a lot of leeway?

I don't fear Aston Villa at all come boxing day, this game is primed for them to put in a good showing. Manchester City are in disarray yet still constitute the raising of performance levels which come with playing a big team at home. Their vulnerability has rallied Aston Villa even more. At St James' Park I think we can put 3 or 4 past them, they're defensively weak.

Players like KDB have been vocal about playing too many games, with the winter World Cup and the Euros. When they won the CL they were literally back in pre season like a two or so weeks later.

70 odd games season with little rest was always going to have a effect. Think we’ll see this happen to a few teams in the next year or two.

Yep, doesn’t matter who is manager, this is a squad in a poor place. Should be doing a bit better, but the drop off is shown in the squad with Rodri injury.

He's probably earned some leeway tbf

They are just completely devoid of confidence and, understandably, struggling to replace the best player in the world who they've built their entire system around.
