The amount of sides playing either crazy high lines or trying to play it out from the back when they don't have the players to do so seems at an all time high. Giving his defence a bit more cover is just good management even if it takes away from the play going forward. Just saying 'we're going to be open as fuck and bomb on for 90 minutes' regardless of opposition, venue or scoreline is clearly thick as fuck. Might be entertaining for the neutral but it's not very pragmatic. You play the hand you're dealt and tweak things to give yourself the best chance of getting the best results possible with the players that are fit.
