Boyhood Evertonian.  It was the least successful Liverpool side of the past 60 years he was a part of, so I can understand if there’s not a huge amount of sentimental feelings towards him.

Isn't every Liverpool legend a boyhood Evertonian?

I'm not disputing the minutes given in this game. Would like to it for every match played.

Don’t they say they stop the clock for stoppages such as subs, goals, injuries etc.

I agree with you there. As it feels a bit random at times. Not sure how they’d do it, mind. Nor would they want to.

If I've learnt anything from multiple decades of watching Newcastle United, it's that we absolutely definitely won't fail to capitalise on this tremendous set of results in massively disappointing circumstances tomorrow night

Likewise.  This does have echoes of when Leicester won it - all of the Sky Six were in a ‘transition’ season (ie were shite)

Before the season it was the same gibberish circling about how all the sky six teams + Villa were going to click more than ever before, and it would be near impossible to break into top 6 etc. That's allways the narrative going around before every season, and it never happens.

That's what it's supposed to be, yeah. It just never feels consistant.

Manchester United have always turned the corner. Bought some real gems over the summer.

9 points off top if we win tomorrow, followed by a home game and playing the bottom side. Are we...in the title race?...

No. They’d have a game in hand and they’ll beat or draw with Everton I’d say. 10-12 points to make up.

Just win tomorrow. Then Saturday. Then the Saturday after.

See where we end up.

I can't tell you how chuffed I am for Wood considering how over the top the dislike of him was with some of our lot. Fully deserved.

I thought he was pretty dangerous before he signed for us but I wasn’t impressed with what he did here. I understood the signing but I was very keen to get him out the door.

Yeah, I feel like there has been some re-writing of his history from some with Wood.  Like he was actually fine for us and he got loads of abuse from the boo boys.

I suppose he did his job in the sense that he was a body, he played centre forward and he ran around and did score the odd meaningful goal, was it 3 or 4?  But he was often like a walrus trying to control a beach ball with his touch.  His link up play was far worse than what I've seen from him at Forest and back to goal, for a big lad, he was shite.  Regularly just won flick ons to nobody. I think towards the end.  He looked totally devoid of all confidence and for £25m, he just seemed like a busted flush.  Even factoring in us staying up and Burnley going down.  He was crap to start with at Forest and I think their fans were saying similar?

I did say in this topic last night that he seemed a decent guy, I never felt like he was hiding and not putting it in.  I think he even had good words to say about us when he left and we recouped a lot of the money spent.  So their can't be any hard feelings.  He would have had every right to celebrate that hat trick and all, but he chose not to.  That says a lot about him and his views on our club, IMO.

Really pleased to see him doing well and that his form is contributing to another unfashionable club competing in the top 4.
