Liverpool are like man utd if they aren't playing well they'll get a jammy penalty or dodgy offside go there way. Liverpool are blessed in finals I feel, probably the last team I'd expect to lose one other than Real Madrid. Whilst were cursed, approaching Benfica levels. Losing to Spurs just doesn’t bear thinking about. I’ve got too many mates who support them and all the ‘Spursy’ stuff would be relentless 1-0 isn’t a big enough lead to take to Anfield, mind. Honestly. The way I've been giving it large to my mates whenever we beat them. Fuck me. It isn't worth thinking about, as you say. I'm already nervous and we're not even in the final yet
Geordie_once_removed
So can someone explain my internal logic to me because it makes no sense to me. I don't what Liverpool in the final as they have a bit of a hoodoo over use. Yet I also don't want to play Spurs as we have a hoodoo over them but my brain tells me all runs must come to an end. Is this pessimism just the result of decades Newcastle supporting induced trauma?

Ketsbaia
I don't think I could handle being favourites heading into a cup final, which would undoubtedly be the case v Spurs. The pain of that possible defeat would be devastating.

Kid Icarus
Yous know exactly what we mean though. If we go through they're the better team for us to play absolutely no doubt, but just imagine if they somehow weren't Spursy and ended their trophy drought to the one club more allergic to them than them. It doesn't bear thinking about. Edited 23 hours ago by Kid Icarus

TheBrownBottle
I’m amused at NUFC supporters juggling in their head who they want in the final due to the disappointments of the past while seeming blissfully unaware that we still have to actually finish the job against a really good Arsenal side. The most NUFC thing ever wouldn’t be to lose to Spurs in a final; it would be to lose 2-0 at home to Arsenal and go out on pens

Ginola14
White Hart Lane / Hotsput Stadium is our favourite PL away game for wins, but I don't think we ever beat them when they played at Wembley? doesn't really bare thinking about until we finish the job against Arse like others the thought of losing to them makes me feel ill

Unsure of anything else. One thing I will say is that if we do get to the final, our support needs to be far better than it was last time. Didn’t bother doing anything til the 85th minute. I’d be following the other semi even if we were 2-0 down. The reality is all 4 teams are close to a final .
