WTF is she on about, Glasner's impact was immediate as you could ever get for Palace last season. Just appalling knowledge of the game, just saying words without a hint of knowing anything.

It was interesting the point Fernandes made in his post match interview about VAR taking away a lot of the edge of the derbies like this. No doubt it contributes to sanitising games a fair bit.

I’m not sure I agree.

You have always had boring games, and generally boring teams.

You can point to the lack of a title battle and relegation battle this season as it being boring, but in previous seasons the title race has went all the way to the end. This is probably the early the relegation battle has finished granted, but generally it’s a bit more closer at the bottom, heck a couple of seasons ago we had a situation where 2 out of 3 teams could go down on the final day.

This season the battle for Europe is possibly the biggest it’s ever been, and in the last 2 years both ourselves and Aston Villa have broken into the top 4, with Nottingham Forest likely to do so this year.

You are talking about results and title races. I'm talking about the actual football being played on the pitch.

I'm sick of this insipid, possession for possessions sake style of football so many teams are adopting now. Its all very regimented with little room for flair or individuality. Nobody has their own identity now.

That said, I'm probably just being an old man shouting at the clouds.

I was listening to that in the background going eh?

She claimed Glasner's impact wasn't immediate, after the presenter said Glasner plays the same way as Amorim, and his impact was immediate, she said it wasn't and it was only being seen now, just ludicrously wrong.

Why Pep?

He's the one that's instigated this dull, possession based football that we see today.

He got lucky that his great Barcelona side had the genius of Messi, the brilliance and invention of Xavi and Iniesta, so they were still great to watch.

But take them away and what do you have left? You have the Man City that we saw today.

Football has become boring. More and more people are  saying this now, I'm glad this school of thought is starting to gain traction in the media as well.

More than anyone, I blame Pep for this.

I blame Mourinho more than Guardiola.

tell me a player he has improved?

Depends on the definition of improved

He’s taken top quality players and got the best from them at his club e.g. Haaland

Is that improving them ?

They're micromanaged to an inch of their lives, so robotic and it's symptomatic of a lot of games that we're watching nowadays. Gary Neville.

Still far prefer the possession style far above the long ball shit we were forced to endure before he came to English football.
