Slot defensive and graceless in his interview, talking rubbish about VAR 'interfering' as well.  Whinging about time wasting and the amount of extra time.

Your team were just shit m8.

Seems to have a very thin skin. It’s not even really going wrong yet, top of the league and he’s calling out his players at the weekend

Makes more sense now about why they spent so heavily.

Slot rode the coat tails of the remnants of Klopps training/tactics and now he’s going to be found out.. so try and overcompensate with big signings.. it’s starting to backfire and a rot will hopefully set in.

They'll just ask the Saudi's to bail them out and cognitive dissonance themselves into a frenzy.

It does appear he leaned more on Klopp's previous setup last year, likely because he wasn't able to sign any players last summer.

Turns out he's much more of a side to side passing super slow build up manager, now he's playing his own tactic.

The players don't seem well suited to breaking down the low blocks that kind of play tends to have to go up against all the time.

Just a thought but had we signed Wissa or someone else a bit earlier, we start Gordon on the left against Liverpool and Szobo at RB gets completely roasted like he did against that pacey lad last night.

I still think we'll have a good season, but various setbacks we've had have denied us momentum. I hope we do not see them echoing onward and leading to further issues, like they did in the previous CL season when it was injury after injury.

He had a headloss last season when pressure was on after they wobbled, but Arsenal then imploded so we never got to see the consequences if it was sustained.

Need Chelsea to win this weekend, so pressure is proper on going into their game against Man Utd. Could then be an almighty meltdown if they dropped points to Amorim :D

Long may it continue, it's been long long overdue with them. Them walking the league on 84 points and us having 2nd in our hands with 2 games to go gives a good indication of where the league's overall standard has been since Man City won the treble imo.

I saw some people here saying Frimpong is better than Trent.

That Liverpool defense won't get them any trophies this year. It's a mess. Allison has saved them from some bad losses in the last two games. Their attack looks good, but the midfield is just okay, and the defense is terrible.

It's like City last year, they started strong, getting good results even when they played poorly, and then it all fell apart. I think Liverpool will have a similar slump in October, November, and December.

Isak was a fancy buy, and I guess they had to get him after he went on strike, but they should have fixed their defense and midfield instead.

Lets see how they fair at Chelsea this weekend.

Quote

Carragher: "I'm not watching a top team,” Carragher told CBS Sports. “Liverpool are not playing football, they are playing basketball. And I told Slot this on the first game of the season against Bournemouth.

"They obviously have a fantastic manager. Liverpool last season were a top team, but also a workman-like team, which they've sprinkled a bit of stardust on in terms of the transfers they have brought in.

"And they haven't gained anything going forward, but they've lost a lot defensively.

"I think for the manager now, he know needs to really earn his money. He did last season, by winning the Premier League, but there are few problems he has got to fix. It will be really interesting how he does about it, because he spent a lot of money on certain players.

"Right now, the balance of the team is not right, and the obvious one that stands out is Florian Wirtz, who is just not at the races at all. He's a young boy, coming to a new league, and has plenty of time to go.

"But right now, he needs to come out of the team, Liverpool go back to what they were last season, and try to build some confidence and some stability. Right now it looks like a mess."

Carragher continued: "It's not the losses, it's not the defeats, it's the performances. And this has been coming from day one. Liverpool got battled by Newcastle in the second half of that game, and Newcastle had 10 men. That cannot happen.

"Crystal Palace created seven big chances, which is more than any team has conceded in a game this season and Liverpool are the champions. This is not a shock, it's been coming. And the manager needs to fix it."

I bet the Sub-Continental and Irish brigades of the eScousers will be rallying the troops to storm the comments on this one.

Did anyone else see that dribble from Yamal in the first few mins of the PSG game? Kept the ball for ages then just went past the likes of Nuno Mendes at will. Such a fun player to watch.
