We have down it before and have beaten them already this season. We had our chances to beat them the other day too. Man United have just replaced their manager and aren't in Europe or any other tournaments for that matter. All they have is to go all out here in a local derby and sort their league form out. It's nothing like the same scenario for them. Just people finding any opportunity to whinge about us imo.

Yeah that's what I'm saying we didn't have the energy to press them high but it's the correct approach. You can't play the reputation in football you have to play what's in front of you.

You’re doing this wrong, man. No variables are allowed. You have to compare one game to another and make a snap judgement and say we’re shit, it’s all so simple, just PRESS and we’ll win

Howe should just put ‘football is a simple game’ on one of his motivational posters and we’d probably win the league

Such nonsense. We played well first half and pressed hard at times. Often getting bypassed. We limited them to fuck all and should have been ahead. Man U have done similar. Press when

they can, then sit in deep and close off passing lanes and space in behind. They just clearly have far superior players in attack/on the counter. Plus probably the most creative mid in the league in Fernandes.

Our legs started to go after an hour. Which was sort of understandable. They brought on the big guns and we got squeezed out of it in a fairly tight game.

One game a week Man U with far more depth, a more expensively assembled squad looking more fresh than us?! Well I for one am shocked

This was clearly first goal wins game. City defended poorly

Deserved it like, City are pathetic  so much money spent and this is what they have to show for it.

Been signing many an average players, and ones that are not his usual possession focussed.

Pep must detest working with this group Vianna has giving him.

People waffling on about this is how we should have played versus City man....give owa

Yeah. Not a hope in hells chance we could have put the energy in that Man U have. They have had so much less football than us. Add in the little bit extra energy for it being a home derby game aswell and the old classic new manager bounce after a cloud has lifted from a previous manager.

Plus City were far sharper and better with the ball on Tuesday than they have been here today.

If we had a week to prepare and time in the training ground then we win that game Tuesday.

Unfortunately what happened was we had played 120+ mins a few days earlier and even that was off the back of the tiring 104 mins we played a few days before that without the ability to rotate due to all the defensive injuries.

Cmon, let's not pretend he doesn't have an input on who they buy.

We've been saying it for awhile but Arsenal have the strongest squad by miles.

A bit like our game. They defended poorly first half and felt like it was a one goal wins it sort of match. Which wasn’t far off.

We didn’t take advantage. Man U did.

They’ve fully deserved their win. Not sure what relevance this game has to ours, anyway. People just want a reason to stay miserable and have a moan for no reason.

Genuinely not sure how some people can enjoy watching us/football in general. Based on the nonsense I read on here.

It wasn't just the long Bournemouth game 3 days before our City game...there was also the Leeds epic game within the same week! Amazing we only went down by 2 goals. Past teams would have been destroyed.

We did really well, all considered, and a testament to how our fitness levels are streets ahead of past manager's training.

Dorgu has been very good, to be fair to him.

So many brave calls from Carrick today that have paid off.

Playing Dorgu on the left wing, Mbeumo upfront and Mainoo straight into midfield. With Sesko and Cunha benched.

Pretty annoying really.

Did we shite [emoji38] Howe was visibily furious at our lack of pressing from the front and remonstrated with a couple of the players about it as well.

The tiredness excuse would hold more water if we hadn't been playing with a lack of press and intensity since August. Other than Liverpool (H) I haven't seen it.

I also disagree with it being a tight game. They strolled through it. Other than Wissas chance and a 5 minute flurry just after HT we never laid a glove on them.

I wonder how Guehi will actually do here. Pep is asking so much of his CBs with no midfield and full backs who don’t defend.

He will look amazing against those teams who show them too much respect and look below average against anyone who doesn't.

I must have imagined our CB’s high up in their half and Big Joe and Bruno up in their box beyond the front line at times.

Carry on twisting and moaning to your heart’s content mate. It’s obviously your MO on here.

PSV seem to give you more joy and you can’t stand everything about NUFC
