The Premier League doesn’t need to scrap relegation to achieve higher revenue. Research has shown that moving to a global direct to consumer streaming model with every game shown could generate up to £22bn in revenue per year, compared to the £3bn we receive now, or the £9bn the NFL receives in domestic TV rights. Actually collective bargaining and salary caps make American sports both more profitable and more competitive. The parity among teams is on a completely different level to football.
