Villa will be playing CL football next season and have a shot at winning a European trophy this month. They've been pathetic here but the relegation battle isn't any of their concern

You say that but losing a game like this  can have a big impact on the mentality of a team. Villa are odds on for the Europa League title and have two routes to qualify but if they lose here and lose against Forest then it could be a stressful last couple of league games for them. I realise Burnley is a game they probably win 95 times out of 100

Villa losing to spurs tonight means we're still not mathematically* safe.

Villa potentially winning the Europa and getting a 6th CL spot means we still mathematically* could get CL.

There are only three games left.

What a bizarre season.

* both extreme scenarios that won't actually happen if course, but still.

This is a disgrace from Villa. Making changes is fine but they aren’t even trying here. Puts pressure on Forest who will need to go all out tomorrow. Cynical I know but wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve thrown this game

Got to say at least every Eddie team tries, this is unprofessional, pathetic and stain on Villa as a club. Really poor by Emery, people don’t forget stuff like this.

We didn't try at the Etihad last season...

There's the integrity of the league though - they've gift wrapped these 3 points for Spurs

It's tough shit, Aston Villa's job is to do the right thing for Aston Villa. If West Ham don't like it they shouldn't have been shit for months.

Does Tottenham having loads of injuries all year impact the integrity of the league?

I doubt this is some massive conspiracy- they're simply going through a spell like us, since 23rd march they've only won one premiere League game.

Utterly pathetic this. Like a boxer who’s taken an envelope before a fight  throwing an occasional body shot with no power behind it and spending the rest of the fight dancing around the ring

Yeah but that's the risk they take. Likewise if he'd gone strong here and they lose Thursday there'd be plenty said aswell, then they struggle after and the same things are said because they're tired etc.

It was best for Liverpool to lay down and let Blackburn beat them that time Blackburn won the league but they didn't cos its bullshit

Normally I’d agree but the fact they play Forest of all teams and a spurs win drags Forest right back in to it and what that’ll mean for thurs night doesn’t sit well with me

It’s hard to see past them throwing this. Everything they’ve done has been a disgrace

Even Emery's body language is off
