Where does this view that Arsenal fans are entitled come from? Sure, some of them are. But when there’s so many of them you’ll always come across more wronguns in the media, online etc. And we all know there’s a stereotype about Geordies being deluded with unrealistic expectations. There’s no smoke without a fire, but we know that perception isn’t accurate overall.

Another weird thing I see is Arsenal (and other teams) fans being ‘glory hunters’. It’s a stupid term imo. You’re a ‘glory hunter’ because you picked a strong team as a kid when you didn’t know any better and stuck with them, even when they stopped winning titles.

I would say the view comes from Arsenal's online fans being by far the worst. Way, way worse than anyone else in the league by quite some distance.

It shouldn't tarnish them all with the same brush, but if you want to be specific about it you can and just say that Arsenal's online fans are the worst in the league, and they are.

I think their online fans are mostly fine when their team is shit, but they are absolutely horrific when they’re good.

The same people were terrible under Wenger at the end as well. They've been largely ignorable imo, but ever since our 0-0 last season and especially Gordon's goal against them this season their online fans have gone out of their way to make sure everyone knows they're the weirdest cunts going.

I’ve been reading some articles about Altrincham recently, not the football club, but the town.

I get the impression that 10 years ago it was rather like what North Shields is like. A town where people go to because they have too, rather than going to socialise, simply have a cup of coffee, or doing something leisurely.

Now it’s had a massive amount of regeneration, and it’s a place where people want to live, where they do go just to have a cup of coffee, a meal etc.

They even have a club store for the football team in the town centre.

This is what North Shields (where I live) needs to reinvent itself as, and Altrincham should be the inspiration.

Honestly mate I wouldn’t know as I don’t think I’ve ever been to North Shields apart from Wet and Wild and that bowling alley as a kid. Both class obvs. If Howden counts as NS I once had a filthy experience with a girl called Ashleigh there. Her house had no carpets, before original flooring was en vogue.

Alty is lovely. Consists of the town centre, which has a bit of everything, then Timperley (the slightly more affordable bit) and Hale / Bowdon / Hale Barns - which borders the airport. Our very own Kevin Keegan lives in Hale, as does Roy Keane and half the current Man United squad. House values are genuinely mental even by South Manchester standards and the hipsters have been basically priced out. They have to go up the road to Sale if they want to live close, but come weekend the place is very vibrant. You see it all here, good people watching place. My office is very close to the town centre and the stupid things I see from my window is class and I wouldn’t swap it. Worth a visit if you’re ever down.

Arsenal fans walked out en masse because their side which is going down to the wire for the title and is currently top of the league, were losing a game. Considering its as near as they've been to winning the title in a generation its probably entitled.

And hardly a new thing for them. The celebrated winning the FA Cup against us in 98 the way we'd celebrate winning a regular run of the mill game in undeserved fashion.  They were getting gates as low as 16 and 17,000 after falling short for the title in the 80s, again when it was the closest they had been in a generation.

There’s definitely a Londoner arrogance to some of them. For the most part I think Londoners are no different from people who live elsewhere. However, Arsenal fans are probably the snobbiest going. These are big generalisations but I’d say your average Arsenal fan has far more of a passing interest in football when they’re not competing for the league. They’ve got a real spoilt attitude (some of them). I’m just throwing out a lot of prejudice because there have been some major examples of their fans being pathetic cunts this season

I don’t disagree about them being bad (not sure about ‘by far the worst’ though) but as I said I think that’s symptomatic of there being so many of them, so it’s hard not to notice them on social media. Similar to India fans in cricket for example. You’re only going to notice the worst types and if there’s lots of them then there’s more idiots giving a bad impression of the rest of them.

Even if you make size less of a factor, I’m sure you can make comparisons to Newcastle and things people have said about ‘deluded Geordies’ or even those who were recorded wearing tea towels and getting upset whenever someone criticises Saudi Arabia. The fans (including yourself) who are critical of these people and show awareness of sportswashing will never get noticed.

I also think most of these fans and managers (including Klopp and Arteta) that are most annoying are used as a reason to hate teams and say why it would be unbearable to see them win, but the reason they’re so unbearable is they don’t stop whinging. Once they do well they’ll stop a lot of the whinging, hence why nobody has anything major to complain about City fans. They have next to nothing to complain about given how the last decade has panned out. But also if you enjoy seeing people you don’t like struggle I get that too!

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but the Arsenal fans were straight up intense. They were going on for about a year about our timewasting, commenting on every Newcastle loss that we deserve it for timewasting against them. I have never seen anything like it, not even on social media. We had Leeds do the same to us, we got over it after a week. It happens a lot in football, atleast before the rules for this season. The only reason they didn't go on for longer was because then the Gordon goal happened, and now they are still going on about that after every game we lose. Apparently everytime we lose it's because of karma from that Gordon goal. We have had fortune against other teams before, they may whine on social media for a week or so, but with Arsenal fans you never hear the end of it. After a mid season league game, it's not like it happened in a final either. I swear, no other fanbase would be this intense about those games. Not even Liverpool or Man United. It's just embarassing at this point.

Vardy with 18 league goals at 37 years old from 17 starts and 17 sub apps. What a guy.

Guessing he's retiring end of this season? Would be a nice way to go out.

I bet his lass makes him carry on, flogging a dead horse.

I say it because I lived in north London and knew a lot of them along with spurs and a few West Ham. Out of the three groups - you couldn’t have a two way conversation with an Arsenal fan as they’re not interested in taking about anything but Arsenal in my experience.
