The Bonk
4 hours ago, Scotty66 said: Got a feeling it will be one of the bidders who wanted Chelsea. I don't really see Liverpool having "oil club" owners. The whole idea is surely to buy a club a lot lower on the elite level, and then you can make a huge profit once they become elite. At Liverpool can they really make someone a huge profit considering they're already at the top of the elite level? It's a big risk when you can buy a club for much much cheaper and muscle your way in. New owners at Liverpool coming in and getting it wrong, crashing out of Europe, Klopp leaving etc. The value could plummet. Chelsea have less stature than Liverpool, could see them losing value whereas (as much as I hate to say it) an 'establishment' like Liverpool wouldn't take as much of a tumble in worth. We're a big club, but they're massive and have the fanbase, commercial revenue to command a corresponding sale price. I think they go for £5-6bn rather than the £3.6bn mentioned from that Tweet. Chelsea looked fucked when RA had to sell up and they still got sold for £2.5bn, Liverpool should be double that.
Decky
Can someone explain to me why Liverpool fans are so happy and desperate to get these owners out? From what I can see their owners did the following: - Appointed and supported a world class manager. - Invested heavily in the playing staff. - Team had massive success winning the CL and PL amongst other trophies. - Invested heavily in upgrading and expanding the stadium. - Built a world class training facility. What more can they do like?
gbandit
I imagine they’ve got very high standards for owners, they despised the last ones but I’m surprised that they’re not behind these ones considering the successes they’ve had. Realistically I can’t see a way that they’ll be able to ever compete with Man City or us while we both have the current owners in place so they’ll have to continue with their current model even with new owners

They've outperformed them in Europe and domestically they've went toe to toe with them losing leagues by like a point or 2, beating them once. Those fine margins are probably down to the managers really. I genuinely cannot see what Liverpool fans want. Maybe they're just super annoyed at the Super League thing? Kid Icarus
Nothing immediately stands out as shocking or out of place. I think Dani Alves is the best RB I've ever seen, so I'd maybe have him a bit higher. The older I get the more overrated I think Zidane is as well, he wouldn't be in my top 5 like, definitely not, and not above Cruyff who did much more than just play outstanding football, but was a master tactician and incredibly smart even just in his time as a player. I get that it's the popular football hipster argument to make, but I think it's a totally correct one tbh - Iniesta was better than Zidane. Stylistically and personal preference, take your pick, but I think in terms of who was better, it's Iniesta.
