BergenMagpie
Just now, Stifler said: Richard Masters apparently facing the axe. A number of clubs want him gone, no doubt it will be the top 6, but I’m guessing it will be us as well who will never take to him. Wonder if Man Utd and liverpool will go public asking all PL clubs to cough up 100-500k each as a farewell present like last time to get some instant love from the next cunt taking over

Pata
Probably Baggio as WC94 is the first football I remember watching and he was my favourite.
Kid Icarus
I've never loved the game more than when watching Messi though, as ridiculously cliche as that is. Watching him particularly in 14/15 was something else.
TheBrownBottle
Gavin Peacock was my favourite player when I really started to ‘get’ football (I was taken as a kid, remember seeing Gazza play, but I don’t think you really start to understand the game until you’re around 10 years old)

I preferred Barcelona in the years leading up to that (Rivaldo, Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Kluivert, Saviola, peak Puyol, etc). There was something mystical about Barcelona with their stadium, 'Mes que un club', the sponsorless shirts, etc. Messi seemed to herald in this monster they've turned into. Again, not his fault, but it was the end of Barcelona being enjoyable for me.

Yeah, the sponsor-less shirts made them feel like what they kind of view themselves as; a Catalan national club side in all but name. They’re just another big club these days.
