They can show the Sunday games moved for Europa, not just the 2 games. If I remember correctly they can show pretty much any non-Saturday 3pm (if TNT don’t have it)

every Sunday 2pm KOs.

Saw a clip about how you never get streakers anymore (true!). Consequently was reminiscing to some non toon mates about when I went to the smoggies away and two festive female streakers ran on and were chasing Gazza. Looked it up.

There's a 2022 article interviewing one of them, and she says it was one of the best experiences of her life. Thought aww, that's sweet. Good wholesome fun. Then saw the other one died a few years later in her early 20s! 🥺  Wasn't expecting that mood turn.

Probably not the personal branding she was looking for…

Just read Everton are not going to demolish Goodison and instead giving it to their women's team. Not sure how to feel about that for their fans.

Supposedly saying their emotional goodbyes to the ground on Sunday but hey, just in case you miss it, you can always come back and watch a game, only that it would be the women's game though.

How long until another Aluko starts piping up to say the lads get a big, shiny, brand new stadium to play in while the women only get a broken, 100 year old ground? That is, if they properly maintain it too.

I mean, it's good to see the ground will be preserved and still be in use but rarely you get these situations where you get a new ground and the old one still functions as one as well.

I'm really pleased it's staying, great bit of history and my first away ground. But I see what you mean about how it affects moving on.

You’d think they normally sell the land for property like Roker, Highbury and Upton Park. They’ve properly pissed all over Sky’s big teary send off.

That was the original plan. The owners did a feasibility study and they decided to keep it after all.

Sky probably knew about it and let TNT take the final match there this Sunday

I can’t see how it stays in its current guise.

The facilities are old and past their shelf life. It will just get more and more expensive to maintain in future.

Unless they gradually rebuild it stand by stand, it just looks short sighted.

We should do this for our woman’s team

No, we shouldn’t. If we build on Leazes, the current ground has to become parkland.

Share the stadium as much as possible with the Women’s team.

This. It will just cost them more justbto maintain and replace parts of the stadium. The report on the BBC website says it will be the biggest dedicated women football ground at 39k so doesn't sound like they'll downgrade the capacity. I don't know how much the Everton ladies regularly get through the gate at their matches but 39k seems a bit high?

Everton fans on Reddit seem to think the upper stands will be closed off, then dismantled. They think they will then try and rebuild it stand by stand.

If you expect woman’s football to be hitting something like 39k attendances, then you are best off just doing what Atlanta do for some of their games, put some giant blinds up on the upper tiers and just use the men’s team stadium.

Just went on their forum to see how they feel bout it. Generally, they're happy it's still going to be there and that the women get to play there. Some think this is some kind of Chelsea-styled PSR shenanigans by the owners. Some also said Sunday is now a massive anti-climax, not a goodbye but just a celebration of moving into the new house while renting out the old one.

So this big goodbye to goodison isn't even a goodbye after all[emoji38]

They'll be done for criminal damage taking their seats and ripping the penalty spot up now

Why the fuck they just announcing this now

Is this not going to end up being some PSR accounting trick down the line? What am I missing?

Aye. Looks like it. Their fans seem to think so and are happy they're doing the shit.
