Suppose they have to be 100% sure before canning someone’s career. It’d be a travesty if he’s banned for years and he’s innocent.

Agreed but why should it take the whole season to investigate? If innocent it's not fair to the player to have this hanging over his head for so long.  If guilty he shouldn't be playing.

The whole of Paqueta Island in Brazil betting on him getting a yellow card.

Betfair analytics is - I don't think he would have been so publicly accused if they didn't have some strong evidence already.

Im no legal guy but im assuming they need a smoking gun. Ie messages from Paqueta saying he’s gonna get himself booked or telling people to bet him.

A few bits from this weeks Popbitch.

“Harry Maguire is getting a lot of online support to be reinstated as Man Utd club captain after a video of him greeting all the Man Utd academy kids did the rounds this week. But if being an all-round good guy is the qualification, it would be a huge mistake to remove incumbent Bruno Fernandes.

Remember at the end of last season, the new Man Utd bosses decided they weren't going to do the usual thing of paying for club staff to attend the FA Cup final, nor put on a club party to celebrate their appearance?

One person who was absolutely horrified at this snub to the loyal backroom staff, tea ladies, kitmen, stewards (etc) was Bruno Fernandes. So he went to the club offering to pay for everything – and everyone – out of his own pocket.

His offer was rebuffed, as the club didn't want him to make them look bad.”

and…

“England managerial target Eddie Howe is a massive A-Ha fan.”

Its what my Everton mate says, soon as anyone legitimate looks at the books they run a mile. Scandalous how it's been run and remember if they can't fully fund and finish the stadium by a certain date they are liable for all costs for returning the area back to it's previous state. Potentially calamitous for them, absolute madness they let 777 string along and accept loans from them.

They seem better balanced when he doesn't play. Unfortunately.

Part of the reason they chucked Poch was that he wasn’t using him?

He only started to get a tune from them when he reverted to being a counter attacking side with Gallagher instead of Enzo. Chelsea leaders want Man City suffocation by possession it seems.

I think a lot of the groups looking at them will be looking at the accounts and thinking ‘No, I’ll wait a few more months and pick them up out of administration where I can reduce the debt’.

Our good friend Ashley will likely be doing exactly this, even with £300m in his back pocket, a deal for Everton right now is too rich for him. He could though go in for them in administration and get costs down.

If I was a contractor or sub-contractor on their stadium, I would be quick in getting my bill paid.
