Won a raffle - got tickets to the NUFC vs Brighton game. Taking my 7 year old. My curse vs his disgusting sporting luck (won the League Cup and a Superbowl in his first few years of supporting NUFC/Seattle Seahawks respectively). Buzzing.

I'm going to buy him a pint

Excellent, hopefully no retro dubbed on commentary, but still lot of untelevised memories.

Been after good quality version of the Sheffield Wed highlights from 97/98 since my tape with it on was dastardly disposed of after I moved out. Be great to see stuff back in the day that was never more than a couple minutes on a season video.

Watching the Man Utd home game 01/02, was the camera always this zoomed in back in the day?

I haven't signed up so haven't checked this version but I recall exactly what you mean now you mention it - on Robert's free-kick in particular and on official video the audio was a split second off too.

Was just this game I'm pretty sure. Weird.

I tried another game from that season and it still feels a bit more zoomed in than now but not as bad as Man U. Could be the 4:3 picture playing tricks on my head too.

It's the aspect ratio that makes it weird.

Wasn't only that on the Man U game, you can't see any off the ball runs as the camera is so zoomed in on the ball.

Isn't that what Disney did with the 4:3 Simpsons episodes, rather than have black bars at the side they zoomed in to fill modern 16:9 widescreen so you could literally miss visual gags that were at the edge of the frame altogether.

Funnily enough, the thing that gets me isn’t the numbers, it’s how unbelievably young Frank Skinner looks in that picture. In my head he’s been middle-aged forever.

In similar time-sports continuum fun, been watching the Ashes 1981 highlights on YouTube. Genuinely remember watching that at the time, and the fact it was 45 years ago is terrifying. Go back 45 years from then and you’re at the Berlin Olympics.

Been searching for highlights of Villa away for 30+ years,Incredible.Only ever found a few mins on youtube

Spotted myself and my father even without hd,Great memories.I remember just staring for long periods of the game at what looked like around 5,000 of the Toon Army behind the goal,A hell of a sight

I was sat right in the corner by the tunnel and Beardsley gave me a nod when he came to take a corner,Still my favourite player

Hell of a save by Bosnich from a Warren Barton volley to deny us the winner,Looked a carbon copy of Sandro v Everton recently

Thanks for the link

Saw a lad cutting about Jesmond with a Burnley shirt on with Tuanzebe on the back

An absolutely wild choice of shirt and name to be parading around in

Just qualified Dr. Congo to the World Cup tbf. He’s never gonna have a better chance to wear it.

If it was Jesmond more than likely a zany student from Surrey wearing it for a laugh.
