Aye there's absolutely no way Scott McTominay would ever, ever, EVER get a lass if he worked 9-5.

Can anybody else remember Justin Fashanu playing for us? Just had a bit of a discussion with a know it all prick at work who reckons he didn't. He looked on the club website which says 0 app and 0 goals, but that was just league appearances. I definitely remember listening to a midweek game and he came on as a sub. He still said I was wrong like but turns out I had the last laugh (Partridge style) as google proved me right. It was a league Cup game against Peterborough. I could have sworn he scored for us as well in some daft obscure Cup but there's no record of that.

NUFC.com says he made 1 appearance from the bench in the league cup.

AI says…

“Fashanu made only one first-team appearance (for NUFC), coming on as a substitute.

His lone game was a 1-0 defeat against Peterborough United in a Rumbelows Cup (League Cup) third-round tie on 29 October 1991 (Manager was Ardiles).

Following the unsuccessful trial, he signed for Torquay United in November 1991, where he experienced a brief career resurgence.

While his playing contribution was minimal, the spell is noted historically because Newcastle United provided him a professional platform at a time when many other clubs were unwilling to associate with an openly gay player.”

Turns out protesting works. Who’d have thought. Fair play to Spirit of Shankly et al.

Meanwhile we part cheeks and take it as our “if you don’t want your ticket, I’ll have it” culture continues rather than the better good.

Not as much as there is on poor Leo, having to live up to former King of Scotland and Ugandan light heavyweight champion His Excellency President for Life, Field Marshal Al-Hadji Doctor Idi Amin.

Yup - Peterborough away in the league cup, when Ossie was boss. I listened to the game on Metro Radio, and remember him coming on as sub.
