Wife is a lawyer and she reckons it'll take a year to go to court but relatively quick thereafter.

Chances are if found guilty he'll do some form of jail time.

Rich people don’t go to jail.

That's just not true, though

Obvs they do but less likely than those with lesser means. Laws & the criminal justice system in the UK, and the US for that matter, is made for rich people.

Even more so, given the presiding regime, now.

Aye, I just doubt a billionaire who is nearly 90 is going to be sent to prison.

That's a bit more realistic than 'rich people don't go to jail' :)

Insider trading is a big crime, prison sentences almost mandatory in the US for it.

This guy went to prison for 11 years:

Bit of a difference between that guy who made millions for himself off the back of it, and Lewis who allegedly has ‘just’ informed the likes of his driver and romantic liaisons so that they could supplement their wage a little.

He's going to run absolute riot in that league. I just saw the highlights, I don't even think its Championship tier tbh.

Dude's 36 and won everything there is to win. Let him chill.

I could honestly imagine if he went anywhere in Europe people would've been buzzing to microanalyse everything and tell everyone he's 'lost it'. It already seemed to be happening at PSG. Don't blame him for bailing.

Could think of worse situations to be in.

Would people have preferred if he went to Saudi?

Fair point - no I wouldn't.

What would happen in a situation where he died? But he was deemed guilty by the court? If the money has been transferred into a family trust, what are the potential implications if he dies?
