The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League

I can actually see a situation where City miss out

Dropping points to Southampton was brutal and their remaining fixtures aren't easy, they have very little margin for error as I think less than 69 points won't be enough

Probably already mentioned, but Forest getting points vs Chelsea would mean that 68 is enough. If Forest also drop points vs West Ham in this scenario, 67 would probably do (depending on Chelsea gd vs ours).

I think forest are cooked now. Spurs and Man U bottom of form chart and unlikely to try much harder ahead of final. I suppose if Man U win they could be on a high for final day but not expecting any more favours.

Villa and Chelsea are the biggest threats. But yeah, it's in our hands.

Only seems like its Spurs and Man Utd who doesnt give a shit to me.

No idea if they arent giving a shit or just are shit tbf.

They don’t give a shit about the league anymore no. And they are shit. But now both teams are in a pretty 50/50 situation to get CL football due to the final. They’re giving wayyyy more of a shit about trying to move those odds now.

Looking at it with who's got to play who and the fact that the FA Cup is on the Sat with Shitty playing, I've come to the conclusion to wait until the final gamesweek as there are too many permutations to take into account.

Once the next games week is done then there will be a, obviously, clearer picture as to who needs what.

Also Spurs play Manure in the mid week as well, so Manure may not be up for the Villa games as much dependant on the result, which can be same for Shitty with their FA Cup game.

Also obvious to say - 2 wins and we'll be second.

Imagine in August 2024 we got handed the following as a scenario for our season:

- Win the Carabao cup

- Win v Everton at SJP final day for CL qualification

We'll get the job done

It’s not complicated. 3 more points and we are in the CL. We have 2 shots at it.

I don’t expect to capitalise on the first shot. But I do expect we will for the second shot.

Pickford will be well up for it. That’s my only slight fear.  Fortunately I expect the rest of the team to be on the beach and emotionally spent after the last Goodson game.

I’m fearful still. Always said we needed not to lose against Villa and not changed my mind.

Can see Man City, Chelsea and Villa winning both their last two games.

Arsenal will be desperate for revenge and then we have inform Everton with Pickford in goal

Finishing 2nd would be mad :D

22-23: 71

23-24: 60

24-25: 66-71

Think it’s fair to say we have established what will be an average season moving points wise.

Our low end should be enough to finish top 7 vast majority of time. Going forward it’ll be to increase that low end to the 70 mark which then means upper end is title challengers. At the moment our top end is top 4 challengers.

Some progress we’ve made, and consistency which will appeal to players.

Or win against Arsenal.  We’ll beat one of them at least.

Emotional Pickford at SJP = absolute stinker for him

Always gets way too involved and drops a clanger for us

????

We didn’t need anything against Villa which is why it will be in our hands in GW38 no matter what happens next week.

Everton are still shit.

Hoping the Everton players stick on their adidas slides and beachwear once they get the big Woodison goodbye out of the way next weekend.

Yeah them winning against Fulham (like everyone else lately) doesnt transform them in to a good team suddenly.

Actually it's usually the opposite, but this board and fanbase in general i'd wager is still recovering from the Ashley era trauma [emoji38] Almost everything I see is thinking of the worst possible outcomes despite the fact the team seems to be quite fkn good.

Idk i don't watch football anymore, i just read this board from time to time so it seems like they're good to me.

I said a few weeks ago that this side has never really let us down by bottling big games. They sometimes get beat but never through a lack of bollocks.

Gonna be tough for other teams next year when we add 3/4 quality players.

Scary good. Mown down all of the relegation fodder and generally held outfought and outthought our Top 6 peers. Now to solve the pesky south coast cuckold clubs problem for next year…

You do know I want to be 100% wrong on this occasion [emoji38]

Just feel there’s a big twist on that last day. Hopefully not detrimental to us 🤞🏻
