So if either of Aston Villa v Spurs or Chelsea v Man Utd is a draw on Friday. We’ll probably  only need a point to qualify for CL.

I think this is right.

We’ve already been over this, we would also be catchable by Forest.

It has to be both of them to get beaten for a draw to be good enough.

ManU and Spurs now is equal to me not even showing up for work tomorrow because Wednesday is so much more important. It’s almost like they are giving themselves an “ok” excuse to not be bothered at all.

I understand priorities, but I hope we never become like that no matter what. Should always do our best and try to win and build that winning mentality like we have done so far.

Im 100% certain that they won’t give their all, or even close. I can accept if we rest players sometimes and don’t manage to be as good, but the work ethic and aim to compete must always be there, otherwise there’s no chance of getting anywhere.

If people had a choice of a last day fixture between Everton at home or Man Utd away, surely you would choose Everton at home, despite everything around Man Utd.

Find it baffling that people assume this is a GUARANTEED three points for Villa, yet we’ve got a tricky fixture that we could slip up in.

FWIW, I’ve long been comfortable with our final fixture in the belief that Everton’s season effectively ends the week before with the last game at Goodison.

I wouldn’t be “shocked” if ManU or spurs managed to get a result, but I’m pretty certain it won’t be because of work rate and commitment.

Think Villa at home to Spurs is a Villa win 9/10 though.

Why sell Barnes? The guy gets a goal or assist every other game, nine Premier League goals this season, and half the time he was on the bench! I don't get it.

I'd keep Willock and Pope, personally.

Not saying I would. He's been linked away to Villa just like Willock has to Palace. I'm just saying there's a lot of players potentially heading out the door, they will need replacing.

That won’t happen if we qualify for the CL.

We would have just qualified for the CL and won a cup. Why would we make wholesale changes?

Im not saying we should. I'm just saying there a lot of players looking likely/certain to leave so they will all need replacing regardless of whether we like the idea or not

Watched the highlights back and mccoist and that other twat were waffling on about Everton being one of the form teams in the league. They have got 12 points from their last 11 games, was 9 from 10 before saturday ffs

Spurs and Man Utd have to be close to 'bringing the game into disrepute' territory.

I know they're poor but they're not even trying

Yeah at this point I think the likes of Ipswich and Leicester would have a better chance taking points off Chelsea and Villa than Spurs and Man United do. They literally couldn't give a fuck and will be playing reserve teams . Have said for a while now that I fancied Villa to get to 69 points but thankfully we are going to match that .

Chelsea's last 10 away games (i.e. since 22 December 2024).

Won 1, Drawn 3, Lost 6

Goals for: 5    Goals against: 15

Nottingham Forest away on the last day isn't an easy game for them.

Looking at the table and our recent seasons, we're being able to beat City and Liverpool once a season, and taking 4 points from Bournemouth & Brighton each a season away from being title contenders.

They were 4/1 before they beat Bournemouth. Always looked long, even if it us unlikely they catch us, Chelsea and Forest look vulnerable.

They're a bit cursed at Old Trafford, but should win.

Our Kryptonite does certainly seem to be any teams between 8th and 12th.

Wouldn't rely on Forest regardless, but if they lose to West Ham, they will in all likelyhood be going into the Chelsea game without a chance of getting 6th. In one way that could discourage them, but in another way they won't have the pressure that they have been crumbling under lately.

I have a feeling (maybe a stupid, hopeless one) that Man Utd might at least get a draw against Chelsea. Their defeat to West Ham was so bad and with Amorim pretty much telling his players off to the media, hopefully they atleast don't just lie down on Friday. They have somehow dugged up some big results against the big teams this season like City and Liverpool away so hopefully they can do something.

Spurs are hopeless though. Villa win.

Any dropped points by the others, we'd have our tails up for our match on Sunday. Forget top 5, "you can tell him now if you're watching it, we're still fighting for this 2nd place, and he can bring all the light bulbs he wants into the dressing room.and hope he gets them to work, and... and... I'll tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them, love it!"

Opta have us down as finishing 3rd on 69 points. It has Man City a point behind us, so obviously assumes that we’ll lose to Arsenal, and Man City will also lose a game.

In what can only be seen as an error, they have Villa finishing 5th level on points with Chelsea, but Chelsea’s GD is much higher than Villa’s.

They only have Forest down as drawing their next game, and presumably losing to Chelsea.

More chance of the FA getting sued for disrepute of a cartel club if they even contemplated it.
