That's up to us to make sure we don't. We tore apart one of the most in form teams in Palace, in a match when Isak should have scored another three goals.

We are a very good team. At home where the crowd will be well up for it.

My only concern is that we don’t take our chances.

Seeing all these mentions about how many Everton have lost and conceded etc. but all form kind of goes out the window on the last day of the season with teams who have absolutely ZERO to play. If this were at Goodison I would be extremely worried but it's not.

The only thing that can scupper us is our own players letting the pressure get to them. They've proven this season that in the big game they have the balls to get the job done. We'll win, we'll get UCL and all will be well.

Just noticed Everton have lost only 3 of their last 17 games

That's one way to look at it.

Or, you say they've only won 5 out of the last 15, and only 3 out of the last 10.

Negative or positive, i suppose that depends on how one wants to look at it.

Standards, we need to think like a big club.

There's no comparison between CL and Europa League IMO.

Well. . . . fuck.

Were gunna drop a bollock here aren’t we?

No, asskicking of the highest order at home engineered by Eddie Howe, who has proven himself over and over again.

Everyone relax, its fucking Everton at home on the final day of the season with them having fuck all to play for. We win, our players will show up.

Obviously would have loved to have finished second, have CL boxed off, and gone into next weekend with a degree of freedom - but - these high pressure, high reward games, laced with jeopardy is it what it’s all about. The place will be jumping if we get it done.

You can see how the decades of toil and frustration have scarred so many of us. We have a scenario that we would have all jumped at months ago, a scenario that didn't seem possible a few years ago, and there are so many who are scared shitless of a loss.

We control our destiny. Simple. We need to beat a team we should be beating at home. We do that, we are in the Champions League with a third-placed finish after winning a domestic cup. Incredible stuff. We just need to grab it.

It really is decades. Can't help dreading that next Sunday turns into another debacle like Partizan Belgrade, or even Anderlecht.  No reason to think it will, but the scars remain . . .

Do you think our rivals would swap positions with us? Due to our goal difference its still in our hands. Chelsea and Forest have to play each other. Man Utd may not be good but its still at Old Trafford and they may be on a high of winning the Europa League going into the final day. People are also massively overrating Everton and forgetting we're playing at St James' where we normally win.

For me I think it's just that we had the fixtures to have this wrapped up before the final day, but now there is jeopardy.

Because like a cup final, in a one off game anything can happen, a sending off, injuries, a bad ref decision, or simply just having a off day.

So it would be gutting that for weeks it felt like we had this under control and then let it slip at the last hurdle.

Doesn't undermine the cup win or anything like that but would just be a really sour note to end on, on what could and should be the greatest season that I have seen in my lifetime.

A cup win and CL qualification would have to surpass anything I have witnessed so far.

But have to remember that we were having a pretty average season up until that long winning run we went on. So if you had told me back in February or whatever that we would have won a cup and be one home game against Everton away from securing champions league football again, I'd have snapped your hands off.

Yep, year after year with nothing to play for. Apart from 11/12 the closest it got to this intense were those two failed relegation fights, and promotion.

If we're doing things right, then we're going to have end of seasons like this more often than not. We're not always going to be in a scenario where it's in our hands to beat a bottom half team at home to qualify for the Champions League.

It’s been a brilliant season winning a cup for the first time in 70 years and whatever happens Howe and the players deserve huge amounts of credit. I do think missing CL considering where we’ve been sitting and what it could mean and the ramifications on recruitment and PSR it’d be a massive missed opportunity and a bit of a low and deflating at least temporarily.

“If” we haven’t got it in us to put Everton away on Sunday (I think we will for that matter) then we will have to accept we just haven’t quite been good enough.

Lads and lasses, if you can’t deal with the so called “jeopardy” that comes with being a successful competitive side, then you really should get some proper counselling for NUFC PTSD so you can start to enjoy life again

We’ve won a cup, we’re in pole position to qualify for the CL and yet there’s people on here acting like the Sword of Damocles is hanging over our heads

If you can’t feel positive about our current situation then you’ve definitely got some serious issues with anxiety, perspective and catastrophic thinking

Enjoy it man. Stop fretting. The sky isn’t falling in.
