Absolutely massive for us. Best thing Arsenal have ever done for us.

Hope we can maintain and secure top 5 now.

Tbf, it was 99.99% guaranteed already. It didn’t really need Arsenal to do that.

I despised them for years.

Over the last few though, that's softened. While I still don't like Villa, I know longer hate them.

Still can't bring myself to want them to win the CL mind. Or any other English club.

These are our rivals really.

Hate Villa.

Hope they beat Arsenal in the final.

They’ll do well to do that considering they’re due to play them in the semis.

As much as I’m glad they won because it confirms England’s 5th place, even though it was happening in anyway, I want them to lose. I want all the English teams to lose and go out. The Champions League I don’t want any other English team to win because of jealousy, the Europa League, or Conference League I’m less concerned about, but the clubs left are Man Utd, Spurs, and Chelsea, so fuck them.

To be honest I think I’d be more frustrated with Spurs or Mancs winning Europa and parachuting into Champions League after season they have had. It doesn’t guarantee a turnaround next season by any means, but it gives them more of a chance.

I was having this debate with a mate the other day, he was wondering why I didn't want an English club to win the CL. Now I wouldn't begrudge Villa so much as it would be a big fingers up at the elite clubs but I have no real like for any of the remaining CL clubs, Dortmund would probably be my number one pick from here.

As mentioned in the other competitions with the remaining clubs I have no desire for them to win.

I didn't mind West Ham taking the Conference a few years back.

Apologies if already asked and answered, but if we finish 7th I’m assuming that’s conference league ?

It'll be Europa League if a team above us were to win the FA Cup - so given Villa would be likely above us in that scenario, we'd need the cup winners to be anyone but Palace for Europa

Think that'll depend on who wins the FA Cup, so if the table stays as is if Forest Win the FA Cup, that Europa League spot will go into the League as they'd have qualified for the Champions League so it'd look like:

5th: Champions League

6th: Europa League

7th: Europa League

8th: Conference League

But if Palace win the FA Cup it'll be:

5th: Champions League

6th: Europa League

7th: Conference League

Villa winning the FA cup and not finishing top 7 will also alter it.

It's a shame Forest have such a cruisy set of fixtures remaining. We'd catch them otherwise.

It's going to be all about passing Chelsea and holding off Villa. Expect City to be fourth.

I still think we might catch them tbh. It’s about 5 teams going for 3 places to get to the CL (most likely). Having said that, things can change.

what happens if manu or spuds win the EL?

still top 5 places for CL or does it go down to 4?

remember previously when a CL place got taken away from the league as a result of something like that.

will it be a max of 5 from england?

No, can be 7. Five from league and two European winners.

But one of those "two European winners" would have to be winners of the CL, no?

And for it, still, to be 7 they'd have to finish outside our top 5, no?

Yes, so basically Villa for CL. And Man United / Spurs for Europa.
