That's just for winning the final. We made over £20m in the group stage from prize money alone.

These tournaments are worth a fortune to teams.

For a smaller teams even Conference League is. UEL really is not for a team like ManU. With your squad cost, CL is essential. Only point being in the EL is to win it and get back to CL. The hit your league form takes with it and each league position is woth couple of millions.

I know what you're saying, but it's far more lucrative for us to be in the Europa League rather than no European football whatsoever.

Sadly it is. £9m for their coefficient payment and £3.5m participation prize, as well as other prizes per win and draw. All in (according to ChatGPT at least) they’re about £45m to the good from the run to date. Which is pretty nuts. Stand to lose about £15m on PL placing and the £50m or so from the CL last season, but if they went on to win the Europa League they’d likely have better revenue than last season.

Good website here

Really highlights the importance of making the UCL and how much progression out of the opening stage is worth.

Either spurs or Man Utd will win the EL and Chelsea will walk the EC. Time to make your peace with that.

A spurs / Man Utd final would be pretty funny, the loser will be wrecked.

Spurs face an away tie in Frankfurt and needing a win, somehow to go through.

Man Utd have a better chance at home against Lyon, but I still think Bilbao will prove a tough test.

Chelsea winning the EC would only give them a spot in EL unless the rules have changed.

Isn't it likely that 67-68 point would be enough for a 5th place CL spot?

That would be 5 wins from the 8 left.  It is doable but not easy.

ManU (h) W

Palace (h) W

Villa (a) L

Ipswich(h) W

Brighton (a) L

Chelsea (h) W

Arsenal (a) L

Everton (h) W

This would give us 68.

That website backs up what I said.

We earned €22.7m in the group stage from prize money alone.

Sorry I should edit: prize money and participation money alone.

Theres my prediction and that's us getting beat at Villa, Arsenal and Brighton, as well as drawing at home to Palace.

6 wins and a draw in Man City remaining games is still believing they’re some top side this season. Nothing has indicated all season they will click into form.

66 though is fair reflection for us, and based on everyone’s season, should be enough for 5th.

That's without Haaland for most of those games as well. Not happening.

Win the next two and we only need to win 3 out of 6 for 68 points. Our home games are vital, win them and we will finish top 5.

We will beat Arsenal. It's our thing this season.

Chelsea home game is such a massive one. Game will be moved to Sunday now as they'll play on the Thursday, which certainly hurts them more than us.

They’ve played 2nd XI all throughout so far mind! Plus, they’ll probably be out of sight after the first leg as well!
