My dad (Villa fan) kept telling me that Man City didn't look good at all against Everton, and through the entire game I said don't worry, they will get there in the end anyways. That's just what they have been doing against these weaker sides in 2025.

Everton have been very good at grinding out results since Moyes’ appointment. That was always going to be an ugly win at best for City.

I think some are hoping abit much for a Forest "pressure"collapse. Yes they had a couple of wobbly results but it would take a full blown collapse to lose some of their remaining fixtures.

Even tonight, yes it's away to Spurs but in the context of this season it's a team that's been in the top 3 most of the season Vs a team 14th-17th, who play really open and struggle to score goals. Forest are solid at the back generally and absolutely rapid and clinical on the counter.

Every single one of their games is very winnable against mostly teams with nothing to play for (Palace, Leicester, West Ham) except Chelsea at the end of the season but they might already be secured by then so might not even do us a favour by beating them.

Same for Villa, beat Man City and unless they struggled with balancing the fa cup semi and the league, decent fixtures against teams that again have started to look like they have run out of gas for the season, Fulham & Bournemouth. They will beat Man U and Spurs at a canter.

Chelsea are the only ones I was confident will miss out, but they went and won unexpectedly yesterday. They will beat Liverpool, they will already be champions and will be on the beach. Again Man U guaranteed 3 points and then only games I see them losing now could be against us and Forest.

So yeah it's going down to that last game against Everton and always was as it's too tight not to.

For me we have to win all the home games and get something away in one of the other 2.

City were fortunate, but we have talked about how unconvincing they look since december. They are the masters of unconvincing wins at this point. The problem is that the weaker opponents often need more chances to score than what they do.

If there's one team that will keep their nerves in check, it's Man City. They have so much experience with tight run ins and important games.

The Joao Pedro suspension is massive for the Brighton, which I think swings it our way. Also, bare in mind that Sven is due back in the next few games, so we'll be able to change the back 4 a little if required, or go to 3 against Arsenal. Don't forget that he is by far our best CB  as well. I think we win the next 3, which will calm all the nerves in here, and give us breathing space. The mentality of the squad is different to last time we were in this position, they'll be looking at finishing 3rd rather than just making the Champions League

It’s Danny Welbeck that worries me - gets a goal every time

Welbeck does normally get the goal, but I feel that Pedro is the difference between then being a problem going forward, to being predictable. He does things that aren't the normal, dropping into hard to mark spaces to create space for the others

Wouldnt mind a draw in City vs Villa. Dont take it at all for granted that City will finish their season better than them.

Wolves are on a very good run with 5 wins in a row.

Fulham and Bournemouth will both probably be fighting for a spot in Europe and are very good teams at their best.

City themselves have looked far from impressive.

So them sharing 2 points instead of 3 seems good to me. Especially if Forest wins today and we maybe have to stay ahead of both.

We want teams ‘eliminated’ from the race.  Villa are bottom of the pack, we want them gone.

City has lost 3 games in the league since end of december. Those 3 being against Arsenal, Liverpool and Forest. In the same period they've won 9, and while they haven't looked all that convincing in just about any of those, they are winning games anyways. They don't need many chances.

Liverpool hasn't exactly looked like the galacticos, but yet they are on their way to ~90 points. Don't let the gameplay decieve you, it's the results that counts. Looking far from impressive doesn't deduct points from you.

They dont need to lose to drop points, draws works just fine which they have had several of vs average teams. They are were they are at the table for a reason. In their last 10 games they have won half of them, which is pretty much their average for the season in a whole. Dont really see anything that suggest that they are certain to win their last 4.

You're focusing too much on their 2024 form over here. That doesn't matter anymore. Their stats are 9-3-3 since their terrible form pre 2025. As mentioned all of the losses were to top 7 teams. Ofcourse they may draw a game or two, but that's not enough. They need to have a serious dip in form to not get it over the line.

Now more than ever I fully believe that trophy winners should automatically qualify for the Champions League. Never thought about how appropriate that would be until about 15 minutes ago.
