KaKa
Top performance tonight both with and without the ball, and deserved every one of those goals. The more he sees the ball hit the back of the night the better, now he's going to be playing upfront more. Needs to build as much confidence as possible as a goal scorer. Not often you get a chance to score 4 in a game, never mind a half, and broke records doing just that and is now chasing down the top scorer in the competition. Keep taking those pens. Optimistic Nut
Love Trippier but he was wrong there. Gordon has every right to fill his boots.
GeordieDazzler
Clear of Kane and only two off the golden boot and 7 off equalling Ronaldo’s record
toon25
Absolutely fantastic tonight. A huge threat

Lush Vlad
It’s mad to say it after he has scored 4 but I still don’t think he will ever be a clinical finisher as a striker and he is never going to offer you much back to goal or as a target. They were abysmal at the back and he was actually wasteful at times I thought. As was Barnes and to a lesser degree, Willock. However, he drops in and links play pretty well, has the pace to run in behind and can carry the ball from deep upfield no bother. He is the closest we can get to replicating what Isak could bring to the team and playing as we are currently. He is our best option up top by a long way. He also brings a bit of unpredictability to our play. Makes us far more fluid as an attacking unit and seems a lot harder to defend against than Woltemade or Wissa. I never thought I would say that. As I’ve never liked him centrally. Granted it’s a small sample size and against poor sides and 10 men for a half. But we have looked better the last few games with a mobile, fast forward leading the line.

Keggy_Keagal
Even top strikers aren't all great finishers it's about getting in positions again and again . Isak could miss a few sitters.

I’m not basing this opinion solely on tonight, mind. He is a very safe finisher, IMO. Seems keen to just hit the target with not a lot of conviction and won’t risk going for power or placing it out of reach. That’s not to say he can’t improve on this. Only last season I thought his penalty technique was a bit shite and unconvincing. Now it is one of the best in the league and is anything but safe or soft. Optimistic Nut
If he can improve his finishing then I'd happily have him as our main centre-forward and go for a top quality left-winger.

He'll be some player if he can add that last bit to his finishing won't he. The top, top players just have that head down, it's going in the goal, laces, toe poke, whatever, just stick it in. It's what took Cristiano to the heights and Hazard at his peak when he stopped pissing about too much in front of goal aswell

healthyaddiction
Just seen Gordon is 4 goals away from equaling Messi's highest scoring champions League campaign. That would be genuinely hilarious.
alexf
Forgetting the level of opponent for a moment but Gordon looked electric tonight and has looked really improved as a striker compared to earlier in he season. Finished his chances fantastically, however still could have done better with one or two but so could others. Barnes should have had 3 himself if he'd been abit sharper tonight. Loved his first goal in particular as that was exactly what you would want from him as a forward. Use his pace to run in behind and then bury his shot low and hard into the corner. Pace is such an asset when used well. I was his biggest critic when he was contributing little from the left and seemed like he was half arseing at times and stopping Barnes from playing on he left. But I'll be the first to say that he's been really good for awhile now and in particular the CL games he seems to excel. Totally back him taking that 2nd pen aswell. He's our designated taker, he won the pen himself and is more than entitled to demand it.
wiseman
That third goal of his was brilliant pressure from him, thought he had another great game tonight and is really looking like hes got a point to prove in the lead up to the world cup. Can tell hes been working on playing centrally as his runs are getting better all the time as well.
Kanj
Happy to have him be our main #9 for rest of this season. Presses so well, stretches defenses, decent link up play, fluid with Barnes at times and bangs in penalties. Two tidy finishes in open play too.
