Other risk is he gets injured and we are stuck with him, although I do see your point.

Glad it’s done and dusted early doors tbh.

Injury is a concern I hadn't considered.  I don't know, I'd just feel more comfortable with something over £70m.

They're 100% going to unsettle Woltemade to the point they get him on loan or something shit this summer.

We need more backbone, if clubs try this stuff it should be a firm no to the club trying it on and off to the reserves for the player.

Christ, that would set us back wouldn’t it. Not sure how we’d cope.

i’m one of the few on here who still likes AG, so I certainly won’t be celebrating him going until I see who the replacement is. Especially after the last winger we signed.

Good luck to him. Wonder what the Barca fans will make of him sprinting down the line, turning back on himself then running inside and make a square pass to roughly 10 yards from where he started? Even more looking forward to their reaction seeing him cut inside from the corner of the 18 yard box and blaze shots into the crowd at the far corner.

If we spend the money wisely he’ll have been a great signing for us.

Tbh for me still one of our best players being peddled is not a good thing.

Just hope it means we're set for a proactive transfer market and rebuild.

I held out hope for Gordon longer than most, I'd say. I was always hopeful he'd reproduce that one mint season, but he looks so far off it and in certain areas getting worse that this is an ideal situation. Fair play to Howe for playing him CF as well and putting him on penalty duties so his numbers look good so the fee is higher than you'd pay if you actually watched him week in week out.

Hope the people using Elangas fee to rubbish this fee will also use it for our incomings to say how much of a bargain they are in comparison [emoji38]

This must be a pretty strong indication we are. And that we have had deals in motion for a while.

He should get the same stick Isak got. Only difference is it didn't drag on all summer and that's probably more about us being willing sellers more than anything.

He sent his agents about during the season with a few games left, and it obviously worked because they were spotted at Barca. In this day and age they obviously would have been caught doing it so its pretty disrespectful to do it imo.

He obviously fucked about behind the scenes too because he didn't play a minute in the last few games, with the club chasing Europe. He could have played it different and helped us get over the line for Europe then went about his business but it was all about him and who cares about Newcastle United so good riddance tbh.

Slightly cheap but worth it to get it done early.

Doesn’t reflect well on Rashford either, which is nice.

3 years older and on about a million an hour.

Think he's wanted away since he got stick off the fans for liking Isak's post last summer. It's been clear all season, particularly in the league.

I think Gordon was at least for a year now "Anthony Gordon First" -type of player. Didn't give penalty duties away when he could have helped fellow teammate strugling with confidence, didn't want to play on the right to help the team, made rash tackles that cost us etc. Good player but I don't consider him a good team player.

Not sure how he will do at Barca, his work rate and pace in a less physical league might help him but nowhere near the technical level of Barca players, however playing in a much better team that dominates games compared to our shit show might see a different side to him.

I don't really blame him as we were garbage last season and didn't progress plus his careers short so going there and winning trophies is what he will want. Completely different to Isak nonsense last year and his cunty attitude. In reality we needed to sell him to improve as well so just hope we actually do.

I think in his head he sees us as a stepping stone to an elite club for the likes of him and Isak, and Isak got his golden ticket. I guess Gordon has his now too. Him liking Isaks post proves how little he cares about Newcastle because he's not stupid he knows it would be spotted.

The expectation that players put the interests of the club above their own is insane imo.

I mean, it'd be nice as a fan and all, but that's complete fantasy land. Ownership is never going to put labor's interests ahead of their own, and nobody should ever put their company ahead of themselves either.
