HawK
Personally I think it would be the ideal time to sell him in the summer - bit like I said when we sold Isak that we sold him at the peak of his powers, I think the same could be said of Gordon if he was to go this summer. He's been fortunate with pace-affecting injuries so far, but as the years go by it's going to get more and more likely a hammy is going to go in a sprint at some point and then after his pace has gone, there's not much left in the locker other than his pressing. The question is how would we replace him - would be time for Wilson to show what he can do.

If anything, looking like you’re willing to sell your best players, probably increases the chances of other players wanting away. In terms of making things easier to get a replacement, we should have sold Isak earlier, but on the positive side we did look like we wanted to keep him, which sent a positive message to the other players about where we’re aiming to go. I get that sentiment, just trying to think purely pragmatically in terms of the business that football is now. Unless we're Real or Barca, our best players are always going to go at some point but I think it's up to us how we exit them and when. Gordon for me is a particularly high-risk one I think, because of his attributes and he's streaky.
AyeDubbleYoo
Gordon is clearly our best winger mind, and probably our best attacking player overall. Selling Isak and then selling him the following year would not necessarily be the kind of message we want to send. Although I know a lot of us think Gordon is not all that, the football world generally rates him very highly.
HawK
Yep if we sell him and get another Elanga in it's bad business no matter how you spin it.

Brighton and Brentford do exactly the correct thing for them, because ultimately they’re never going to challenge the elite on a consistent basis. As long as they don’t get relegated, it doesn’t matter too much if they get a couple of dud replacements and drop off a bit for a few years. We’re in a different situation. Crimson Cardigan
Unlike last summer it’s absolutely imperative replacements are signed first before anyone is allowed to leave. Otherwise we get taken to the cleaners and cartel clubs pick off our targets just to pad out their reserves. sky are already working themselves into a frenzy listing Bruno, Tonali, Livramento, Hall and Gordon as possible/nay inevitable departures once we miss out on champions league so we need to be proactive AF. He extended in October of 2024. It's a bit weird because it doesn't appear to be clear when that runs till. I've just checked and have seen reports of it running till 2028, 2029 and 2030, so no idea really.

Could see the club go for Kevin Schade if Gordon ends up leaving. Similar positional versatility and pressing ability. He'll be going into the final two years of his contract this summer, and there were links in January.

Players are always going to want to get paid top money, and FFP prevents us from doing that. I'm sure we could keep all our big stars if we could match the wages, but FFP means we are still a long way from that. At least we should be able to command big fees if the cartel clubs want them though.
LiquidAK
Would sell for that price. As much as he's impressed in recent weeks and looks back to his best, can't shake the feeling that he's a downturn in mood away from the listless performances we saw earlier in the season (masked by scoring penalties tbh). I like him, and if he could stay and be motivated I'd want him to stay, but I don't see it. I reckon if we turn down an "elite" offer then his head gets turned, so in that case just cash out. Maybe unfair as this is just vibes

Honestly, after Isak, if Gordon wants a move, I'd be trying to get it lined up for early in the summer. I like Gordon, but I have no faith he won't cause trouble in the summer to get a move (if he does want it).
