He has some record for goal involvements against the top sides.

By my reckoning out of his 16 league goals for us he's scored 2 against Chelsea, 2 Liverpool, 2 Man Utd, 2 Man City, 2 Spurs and 1 Arsenal.

Definitely a big game player

Or he gets more chances against teams who push on leaving us more room to break which benefits him.

It does, but he still delivers in the big games which is key. Just needs to improve his end play more greatly, which has been a thing for 12 months the same issues. I back him to do it, as he’s got the mindset.

Dreadful from the moment he came on today, offered nothing.

Said it in the Barnes thread. He wants too many touches and always slows the play down, surveying what’s going on and holding onto it for ages. Before eventually coming infield. Rarely uses Hall’s overlap. Although TBF, the one good thing he did, was play a nice ball down the line to him not long after he came on.

We lost all of our attacking threat once he went to that side. Barnes and Hall looked miles better as a pair.

He always speaks so well. Certainly has a maturity beyond his years. He needs to be more consistent this season but as he said himself he’s only 23.

Still maintain Southgate froze him out after he didn’t toe the party line about England’s performances.

This was easily his best game of the season. It seemed like we got Gordon from 2023-2024, and him getting his form back was one of the many reasons why we had such an amazing game today.

I think his next step is developing his game so he is effective when he is up against an opponent of similar physicality. Home or away.

And working on his shooting. He should be working on his shooting every single day.

His next step has to be doing it away. At home he's excellent for the most part.

scoring some goals would be nice. 1 in 5 is bad for the role he has.

I’m pleased be started linking up really well with Hall. I don’t they’ve gelled well as a partnership at all.

He was very good yesterday and unlucky with his shot early on. Generated decent power for a change. Should have had an assist straight after from the corner, too.

Agree with those above about away performances and goals. We get the ball to him a lot during games. So something similar to last season’s output for goal involvements would be nice.

He was brilliant today, had everything.

He was electric. That's probably the best performance I've seen from him tbh.
