Pixelphish Posted yesterday at 15:51 Share Posted yesterday at 15:51 Absolutely zero chance they drop 100m on Gordon.
Dan Gleebals Posted yesterday at 15:58 Share Posted yesterday at 15:58 He blew very hot a cold last season, IMO. Of all our better players, he is the one I would not mind going for very good money. Barnes did well last season in his place.
Dokko Posted yesterday at 19:19 Share Posted yesterday at 19:19 If we don't need the money this window, is it worth deferring payments to the next couple, balance things out? Obviously if he goes. £100m is about right. Shame to see him leave, but last season was fucking shocking from him. Clearly didn't want to be here and gutted he couldn't play for Liverpool. Andy84 Posted yesterday at 19:54 Share Posted yesterday at 19:54 (edited) I thought he was good up to the semi final, albeit not 23-24 standards. I’d keep to be honest unless a mad fee. Big year for him he will want that starting spot at the World Cup. Hope he knuckles down and has a good season because if Liverpool really want him, that’s all you need to know about how good he is tbh Edited yesterday at 19:54 by Andy84
andycap Posted yesterday at 20:29 Share Posted yesterday at 20:29 For someone who was shocking his goal contributions weren't to bad at all.
KingArthur Posted yesterday at 20:55 Share Posted yesterday at 20:55 He is nowhere near 100 million player. But Liverpool most likely dont pay what we would ask.

Not how PSR works. Makes zero odds when we get the cash. Unless it's not guaranteed money, in which case it's not a good deal in the first place. Holloway Posted yesterday at 21:32 Share Posted yesterday at 21:32 If he gets his move he'll have done well, having played for it since the semi/ Liverpool drama, take your pick
Gola
Think he's a young lad who isn't as mentally resilient as he likes to show (for obvious reasons). Reckon us trying to sell him - or him perceiving that - messed with his head and that's why he was shit early on. Then he got the love with the tifo and the contract and he went on a good run again. Then he fucked up and got sent off, everyone slagged him off and he went shit again.

mighty__mag
If the region is 70-100m, even 75-80m is good. But in fairness to Eddie Howe, he's doubled his money, but turned a radgie into an U21 winner, first team England International, and completely helped in the players character and maturity. You'd expect a huge fee given where he was and where he is now, it's not all just about what is done by the player on the pitch, he's a totally different lad now. McCormick
He’s not been that bad, lads. Christ. I’m sure he’ll be back to being one of our most effective players again next season.
mighty__mag
Yeah I don't think anyone is saying that, but in a business where you need to sell high, it's sometimes now or never, otherwise you're saddled with a player who leaves on a free, it all depends on how the regime want to grow the club. Fak
He set a high bar in 23/24, was always going to be tough to maintain those standards the following season. Regardless, 16 G/A isn't to be sniffed at. I think what's got up my nose most about him this season was his throwing the arms in the air and whinging when things aren't going his way. His harrying and chasing back seems to have dropped off quite a bit too.

I know people don't like it when he goes down, but he is a nightmare for defenders in the penalty area and he's won a few penalties for us when he gets in there. Menace
I say this as someone who has watched Leao for a few years. Gordon gets a better G/A than him in the same team. Is he the better player? Probably not. If you think Gordon blows hot and cold, wait till you watch Leao.

He obviously wasn't 'shocking' ffs Underwhelming compared to last season due in part to injury/suspension and the fact the year before was so good. We don't have to exaggerate everything to the nth degree on here

We don't have to exaggerate everything to the nth degree on here I agree with this. Wasn’t shocking by any stretch of the word - just fell short of his own high standards set by the previous season. That being said - if one of our gems has to be sold for that fabled “£100m” fee then it would probably make sense for it to be Gordon.

Never looks like having the consistency. Strikes me as a Manure type signing
Keggy_Keagal
He acts like a top player but this season didn't play like one. Last season he was incredible. I do have questions over his mentality however. Spat his dummy to get out of Everton (which I chalked up to being an unhappy young player, and you never seem to mind as much if a player's doing that to come to your club), then looked completely distracted at the start of this season. Then there have been performances where he hasn't looked arsed or lacked concentration (particularly with his passing). There have been other games where the occasion or something has got to him and his focus has completely gone and he seems far more petulant than he used to. I'm thinking both Everton games and of course the cup games versus Brighton where he's then banned for one of the key moments in our history. If this coming season we're getting 23/24 Gordon , fantastic. The Gordon of the 24/25 season doesn't deserve a start ahead of Barnes on the left and we know full well Eddie doesn't like to use him on the right.
