Financial Fair Play / Profit & Sustainability

Recommended Posts

It does being an interesting point though, without the huge overseas fan bases that London and Manchester clubs have (a large part of which is probably down to the location of those clubs) can we ever have the finances to compete even if we do get another stadium?

I'd have thought that most revenue comes from sponsorship deals but the new rules have stopped us there.

Solution: sign Lee Kang In if he can play on the right.

love football these days when football finance expert Kieran Maguire gets so much air time.  Heartwarming stuff

Thinking of doing an economics degree so that I can reply to verified twitter accounts three months out of the year tbh.

I refuse to use the original name for it because it is so far removed from being fair it’s unbelievable.

Just think of all the top flight clubs that went bust before we had it though

Least it prevents smaller league clubs doing an Aldershot from 30years back, except Bury a few years back.

Could be part of a two pronged solution. Do that and sign Frimpong as that alone solves everything.

Respect to them.

Would, indeed, be great for football if they stick with it and nab a CL spot. Would, indeed, be absolutely brilliant if we can nab one as well.

I think we've been a bit too goody-two-shoes tbh - all for playing by the rules but we've been so compliant and meek it's not the most inspiring

Go and get what we need, don't ask for permission ask for forgiveness

There are a ton of precedents - Chelsea, Man U etc why we can do it.

But then again I understand proper business people don't act like that with a billion dollar asset

Kamikaze is dangerous, why bother taking that risk when they know they can build it properly as they are long term patient investors

Beat me too it. Spreadsheet FC.

Having said that I hope its CFC but we all know they'll sell some stables to themselves or the like.

As fans we all think of immediate success and changes. They undoubtedly have a longer term strategy to get us to the top and keep us there.

It's difficult when we have been shit for so long and needs patience. 4 years in and in reality might take 3-4 years more to get where they want to be.

We are probably the 5th or 6th best team in league on paper and could even nab champions league with our current team this year if our form is pretty consistent. Convinced Forest and Chelsea will wobble, Man City will regain form and be there then I think Villa is the only worry and they don't look great right now. With our back four looking stronger with Botman back and enough options further up the pitch we stand a good chance on finishing 4th or 5th

great to see Forest up there and ruffling some feathers

love to see it along with Spurs and MU languishing in the bottom half

my fear is this won't last, Forest will be deducted more points and the others will be able to spend their way back up the league

Would Forest get deducted points accumulated this season? Might be helpful for our CL campaign.

Clubs effectively lose points following these rules as well as not following them. Could probably calculate the risk if they ever get down what deduction you'd get for what "over spend" you commit which is why it'll remain random.
