Had to go and find Miley on the second page. I think he flies under the radar a lot, he's not flashy, doesn't get into fights and get booked, he just gets on with it. He finds space and virtually never wastes a pass. He's press resistant and never seems hurried. He does need to get more involved, the more we ask him to do the more he'll show what a good footballer he is. Not at all sure what his best position is yet but that will come.

I have always thought that he has been playing well within himself in order to do exactly what is being demanded by Howe. Minimal risk, focus on positioning and ball retention. He is doing it brilliantly. But with that said, I reckon he is gonna take the safety off eventually and start to make things happen and really take control of games. I can't wait.

It's like those situations when he receives the ball and there is the possibility of turning into the space and either driving forward or passing through the opposition midfield. At the moment he ignores that and will just recycle possession. But I can tell he could easily play the more expensive option and chooses not to take the risk.

So many times yesterday they tried to hurry him but he just doesn’t have any of it, turned away from their man, found space and made the sensible pass. Going to be a great player and I agree he should be playing with Bruno and tonali

He certainly seems more mobile this season. I know it’s only been cameos and against lower league teams. But he has been impressive and looks very calm and assured for his age.

My only concern last year was his lack of pace comparative to others. I'm glad to see him improve! He is such an exciting prospect.

Hope he’s ready to be used more during the last 3 months of the season. I think we need to find out how good he really is in a match day environment, not just in training.

One of the few positives from today. For me he has to be the 3rd in midfield while Joelinton is out.

For me he has to be the 3rd in midfield even when joelinton is available.

Yea, it’s time he’s giving a run. He’s the future so give him game time.

He's the now, as well as the future. I genuinely can't pick any flaws in his game. He's does everything you want a CM to do well.

Agree with all of above re. Lewis - found it particularly interesting how players were looking to find him in the middle a lot of the time once he came on. They see a lot more than us lot in training, I think he seems well thought of amongst his peers.

Willock has his part to play - he's lost a bit of spark, but what a great backup to have. Him and Big Joe have that "Bash Bros" thing going, which is always helpful, but his output was minimal today.

Should play ahead of Willock really. He's worth investing the time in.

Looked like Tonali shifted out to the left and Miley went to the right to accomodate him so not sure the balance will be right over a longer period. Felt a bit sorry for Willock, the midfield was quite solid until the first goal, then everything fell apart. He was doing his job up to then, even if he wasn't pulling up any trees.

Thought his influence was growing in the later stages of the last game, was hoping he'd start ahead of Willock. Needs more minutes to demonstrate his ability to influence games, he's moving towards first contender for the big Joe position

Surely is moving up toward being the next midfielder in line to start. Hes much better on the ball than Willock or Longstaff.

I can't really see anything that Willock and Longstaff offer that he doesn't. Maybe pace in the case of Willock, but he rarely uses it effectively nowadays anyway... It would be easy, on the other hand, to list qualities that Miley brings to the table that they don't.

For me, it's an easy choice at this stage. The only reason he isn't starting is inexperience.

Yeah Howe is probably just easing him in slowly I guess. I wouldn’t mind seeing him start against Forest.

You would think - at least until Joelinton is back

And if he's performing well I wouldn't object to Joelinton spending a bit of time on the bench in the knowledge he has to bring his A game when he gets his chance.

Under Howe if you're in the first team and playing well you'll keep your place generally, even if it's ahead of what on paper seems like the superior player.

Dubravka is a good example of this, he's gone from having one foot out the door to starting ahead of a fully fit Pope because he's done well when forced into action. We've seen it before with Longstaff keeping his place ahead of Tonali and just the general unwillingness to have new signings come into the first team.

If Miley comes in and plays well in a midfield three with Bruno and Tonali, I think there's a better than decent chance he doesn't give the spot back even when Joelinton is fully fit.

Issue is getting that chance. Willock was obviously very poor yesterday but so was the whole team, there's an argument to be made that it would be very harsh that the takeaway from yesterday's game is that Willock blew his chance. I can see Eddie giving him another chance next week in a game where we'll hopefully have a much better foothold in the game.

I'd like to see Miley given a run FWIW.

Willock has had many chances imo, time to give Lewis a chance.
