Coded message to say he's a number 8 not a "6" and football hipsters are wank pheasants I think.

EXCLUSIVE: Sandro Tonali sends cryptic message to Bruno Guimaraes that the 8 on the Tyne is all his, all his.

Maybe JL7 threatened him for not scoring from the 20 shots he had before that one. fwiw, Isak has 11 more goals than Gordon, from only 14 more shots.

Really chuffed for him. He won it back in midfield to start that break and just kept going. What a dynamo.

howe has an eye for a player.

werent exactly competing with anyone for his or Isak's signings.

And yet folk in the Mitchell thread would have you think otherwise just cause we lost versus Brighton (or whoever)...

Howe certainly has a good eye for a player obviously not knowing how much input others into identifying them.

Main issue with Howe stems from player loyalty wanting Ritchie and dummet kept, giving new contracts out to Mark Gillespie and extensions to Wilson etc (again no inside info how much that's the board wanting to protect their investment keeping these players), How many chances will willock/longstaff/miggy get/got.

Also thanks to PSR we hoping Mitchell can shop in the cheap gems category while every transfer is a risk Howes best players have come from those around the 40m plus bracket which you would hope is less of a risk not taking anything away from the manager at all.

This middle bit is all relative though too. If you cannot get better players in to replace these folk without spending money gambling on improving squad depth from the bottom end not the top then they may have seen that as risks not worth taking.

Each and every one of those folk mentioned would have been model pro's and important to have around the club and at training and that's what is irreplaceable. To some degree they'd help other, better players settle in.

I honestly think folk just go all in on every element of everything as soon as someone is doing good/bad and it goes from 0 to 100 in terms of opinion (not saying you here btw). Around 15 games ago folk on here and in public would have you believing Howe was a mid-table manager and had ran his course ans that none of the signings were his and all that nonsense. Honestly makes me laugh.

Now Isak is comfortably better than Shearer as another example. All just a bit knee-jerk which is inevitable with such passion involved but howay

We will have to agree to disagree at this point dummett has joined Carlisle ffs model pro course he was but he took up a squad place and was offering nothing on the pitch likewise at the stage Ritchie was let go reluctantly neither was he. Howe goes on about small group and squad if you instantly have 5 or 6 players who will never realistically play it's not sustainable if you want to be a side fighting on multiple fronts.

The Gillespie lad i will never agree on 10k a week to basically never play be a cone on the practice pitch and be in media stuff is simply not good enough surely a youth keeper would be better placed for that slot.

We have a side with a mix of elite and full internationals on the books not sure what the group of canny lads can offer them especially at this stage of the build ( was essential at the take over as we needed to lean on our experienced players to help unify the team).  While older players can bring leadership we all at least agree we need to be better at moving players on I for one would like the players who don't play and aren't up to it shipped first.
