Might not be back to his best with the forward passing, but his distribution was definitely better than it has been.
timeEd32
Eddie when asked about the lack of shots / goals from outside the penalty area (and compared to Villa): “Sandro, for example, has got a rocket of a right foot and we're always encouraging him to shoot more than he does because, you know, I've said many times that he's got one of the hardest shots that I've seen and we see that continually in training,” Howe added. “But it's getting him in those positions and getting him feeling comfortable to do that. So I think it's very much dependent on the individual player."
Lush Vlad
What has happened to him? Still got the energy and workrate. But he was never this sloppy on the ball and he is also developing a habit of not knowing where his man or midfield runners are. Often ball watching. KaKa
This guy should be played as an 8 until he fully settles there. At the very least we'll see a few bursts forward like he had for the early shot. He is shocking dictating play from a deep midfield position. If that's where he has to play, he should be sold and replaced with someone else. RUHRLYASLEEVESUP
If he hadn't panicked & slotted that one away on 37 seconds we would of won that game Typical
MagSA
The early miss will stick with me for a long time. Had the entire goal to aim at and it was easier to score. For a while now finding myself really frustrated by his form on the ball.
kenlau88210
So nobody talks about how he just switched off and gave Buendia all the time and space to shoot?? Just watched the goal again, and I think that was absolutely inexcusable. There was no other threat distracting him, he just decided to sack it off and watch Buendia score that curler

Positional discipline when defending in any other moment is poor, as it is with Bruno too. Both love leaving their position to press aggressively and leaving spaces behind them. One day maybe we'll have a DM that protects the defence.
aussiemag
First thing I noticed was him being drawn to Rogers, who was already covered. Buendia was his man.

With the same brief, doing the same stuff (more or less) with an out and out defensive ‘mediano’ sitting behind them. A Makélélé type (actually Batty would be a better example) who could fill in the gaps when they broke forward. Get ball. Lay it off to someone who can do the creative stuff. Keep it simple. Keep possession.

When he is on it, and when Bruno is also, I can’t imagine many midfields/teams coping with them playing a more generic box to box role (bar Barca who were outrageously good in the middle). Rich
He picked up massively after the poor start, I thought, bailed us out so many times and led a few huge breaks forward.
500bhp
His ball retention is shite. Many of their attacks started from his misplaced passes.
Smal
he’s shocking with ball atm but his value off the ball is off the charts and I think people are starting to forget that a bit.
nemtizz
Much better in the second half but still the easiest of the midfield 3 to upgrade.
