I do worry about the quality of the replacements and our ability to get them. This refresh could very quickly go down the same path Leicester, Southampton and others did when they found their head bumping the glass ceiling, they sold off their talent to go again, and found that they were paying more to get less.

Not being hyperbolic and saying we'll end up the same as what's happened to them, I'm just talking about the refresh part.

I’m hoping out of blind optimism that this quiet period is because we’ve learnt our lessons with regards leaking stuff. Hope more than expectation mind but surely they are working on stuff

Working on multiple deals according to Douglas. Not that he’s ever right mind.

Is this push still going? it’s not even good patter

Wasn't patter from my part. Someone else pulled him up over it and he appeared embarrassed and tried to backpedal. I just enjoy seeing watching people's mask slipping when they get pushed a bit.

Easier to accept him leaving than expected. I never really clicked with him...despite being worth £100m when he's on it. Which he wasn't at all last season.

Him and Gordon leaving is massively damaging if we don't replace...but I'll weirdly miss neither of them.

That’s my worry also. I’ve been saying for a while we need to be better sellers to reinvest but I’m concerned that we are going to sell too much quality and after last summer have concerns about us bringing in our first choice replacements.

Same. Just want to extract as much money as is possible for him. I won't particularly miss him.

Aye, now been two months since his “training ground announcement a matter of weeks away” claim. Fraudulent.

That’s fine but it’s irrelevant to Tonali isn’t it?

Some of Tonali’s passing is very average, he’s got a great engine but he doesn’t really drive forward or beat players with skill. It could be that playing with Bruno is holding back.

In any event, 100M would be a great price. As said elsewhere, so long as we don’t get stiffed in how we spend it.

Aye. Take that to him then not me though. He was the one who went on a tangent about shelf stackers for some bizarre reason.

Too much Carling in the sun would be my guess.

I won’t. One good season out of 3. Missed him for a season because of his own actions, came back had a good season then had one eye on a move out the door all while passing to anyone that wasn’t wearing a Newcastle shirt

I quoted you but was to both. A few people have told yous to quit it. Let’s get back to how fun this summer is

Passing was never his strength. His strength was his engine. His ability to get up and down the pitch. Didn't actually do anything else particularly well. Not good with dead balls, didn't score that many goals, not great in the air...

Not long ago we were considered to have the best midfield in the league

BRUNO TONALI JOELINTON

Now it's Ramsay Miley Bruno

What a come down

That's still a very good and capable midfield.

Miley is class and Ramsey has shown some good stuff.  This best midfield in the PL was always horseshit imo
