Burn and Botman were sublime but I think Tonali's leadership was why we won for the first time without Bruno.

He is so calm, like.

He's having a Trippier-esque impact now in terms of bringing some much needed fresh quality and leadership.

Every game he plays just convinces me he's probably one of the three best midfielders in the Premier.

Willock did the job tonight, but bring Bruno back into this midfield with the newfound understanding, and it's a frighteningly good midfield.

If I ever have another child he/she will be named after this Maestro. He is just pure class, poplar opposite to Bruno in terms of outward passion, but I actually think he's slightly more important to the team now.

He brings out the best in Bruno, who brings out the best in Isak. :dontknow:

Agree. He's a General in every sense of the word. Spotting the weak links in the defensive chain and swooping in to close them off, then pressing the fuck out of the opposition when they have the ball before pinging in a killer pass. He's turbo charged class.

It's a crazy blend, but just to go against that for tonight, but Isak was near faultless tonight without Bruno

Remember our ‘good’ midfielders like Scott Parker, Jermaine Jenas, Cabaye etc?

Tonali’s better than them all.

I'm not sure we've had an elite CM in living memory until Bruno arrived really. Although obviously I don't remember the details of the games of all the Keegan players.

At least in recent years it's always been a really neglected and underrated area of the team. When they made Tonali a priority signing I knew the club was finally in good hands.

Our defenders were all brilliant tonight, but Isak and Tonali were the best footballers on the pitch quite comfortably.
