Ronson333 Posted Wednesday at 22:39 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:39 The best thing is, I really do think he’s got another gear going forwards with the ball. He doesn’t do it often, but when he moves forward with the ball he looks absolute class. He can side step a player, run with the ball with pace and has got a good long range shot. Jaqen Posted Wednesday at 22:46 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:46 It's extremely rare for a CM to have that level of technique, engine and pace like. He's really special.

He's really special. He’s had a long enough run in the side now for us to fairly judge him. As you said, all of the above. I havnt seen much mention of one his best attributes though - he is a very intelligent footballer. You can see that Howe has given him full trust of running that 6 position, he’s everywhere (take a look at his heatmaps if you havnt already). He reads the game so well, a step ahead of every Wolves player that attempted to press him tonight. I think he gives the back 4 a level of confidence that Bruno didn’t at 6 because he can be played off of better, in fact I feel he instills confidence in the whole side. Bruno was very press resistant but this guy is even better at it, in a more well rounded way. Just a super high footballing IQ. Hes fucking good man Super impressed at his integration into the side, he’s been almost flawless and is getting even better. Will be our most important player besides Isak from here on, the 6 position is probably the most important position in elite sides and he could easily become one of the best at it. Where could we have been if he never got that ban? Edited Wednesday at 23:46 by Nine
LionOfGosforth Posted Wednesday at 23:36 Share Posted Wednesday at 23:36 You can say he arrived under a bit of a cloud and we'll probably never know who knew what and when with the whole gambling thing. That's the only reason I think he didn't cost at least 50% more than we paid for him. He might be about as good as it gets in world football playing that 6 role. Scoot Posted Wednesday at 23:39 Share Posted Wednesday at 23:39 (edited) He's just so good at everything he does. I'll probably just be repeating what's already been said in this thread about him, so I'm just going to say I love him and leave the thread. Holloway Posted yesterday at 09:41 Share Posted yesterday at 09:41 That awareness man, he seems to be looking for options before the ball has reached him, someone mentioned a 360 degree swivel heed which was funny but not far off
TRon Posted yesterday at 09:50 Share Posted yesterday at 09:50 (edited) I wonder if we even realised he was this good? Could it be he's actually designed for the pace of the PL, and once he's got acclimatised he's actually relishing the pace and intensity? With his speed of thought and pace, it suits him down to the ground tbh. Edited yesterday at 09:53 by TRon

Maybe it's because they know we have little leeway for a misstep, maybe it's because players who wouldn't quite fit if they arrived at Man U, Spurs, Chelsea etc are being coached into their roles by Eddie and the team - or probably just a combination of the above plus generally good scouting. Whatever, our record since the takeover vis-a-vis our rivals has been excellent. It feels like we're not panicking into signing for signing's sake either. If a decent looking player goes elsewhere now I'm not thinking 'why weren't we in for him?', but I'm assuming for whatever reason we didn't see him as a fit for the club.
