Ignoring the ESL comment which is 100% the worst thing you could suggest.

What if that bid came from Man United? Or Liverpool? they aren't state owned teams. But how about they just look inward? They were bought be a SPAC in Redbird. They won the league, then sacked one of the greatest footballers of all time, their legendary player their Sporting Director. There is a lot wrong with football, but if Tonali is officially sold - they sold one of their top players for a big fee who is a boyhood fan of the club - who took a pay cut for the club. And they seemingly are pushing him out. This is ALL on the ownership at Milan.

So kinda like Serie A was until the mid 90s. Where a yo-yo club like Bari could buy the best player in the English league and a small club like Parma could sign World Cup top scorers from Barcelona, seasoned internationals and one of the hottest prospects in Europe.

Wouldn't worry about Longstaff etc. missing games. Its a squad game now not just over a season but over a game. Players on the bench know they'll be interchanging with the players out there to keep the momentum and pressure up and the spirits seem great besides that.

Football is finished for every club who it is finished for but not the ones who it isn't...

Man City = Not finished

Leeds, Leicester, Everton= probably finished

Man united= wasn't finished in the 90s, definitely finished now, unless they get the takeover and then it's not finished again

Football was finished for us 2 years ago... until we got taken over and now it's not finished anymore. [emoji38]

When things are going bad for you, blame everyone else, it's the system that's failing you.

This feels like such a massive step up still in profile of signing. We’ve gone out and bought elite level players before in Bruno & Isak, but we’re now waltzing into Milan and picking up their poster boy before most other sides have even picked up a phone this window. Nee idea if he’s actually any good, but it’s mental.

Yeah there is apart of me that’s sympathetic. And is aware, this is bad for the game. But then part of me is reminded this is their own fault. Italy is corrupt, which has damaged the league immensely. Spain is the same not to mention Barca and Madrid have been running the league solely for themselves for a long time, not to mention their own corruption.

if the shoewas on the other foot there is not a chance they would have anything at all that resembles sympathy towards the Premier League.

 Any utter drip who utters 'ESL is the lesser evil' deserves their club to burn to the ground. And I stand by that whether we end up invited or not next time the rotten cunts attempt it.

Ravanelli won the champions league and left the biggest club in Italy to go to Middlesbrough in the same year Vialli (having also just won the CL) and Zola (like Ravenelli a fully fledged starter for Italy) opted for a club that hadn't finished above mid-table in living memory that was getting 15,000 the previous season in a ramshackle half-built half decript stadium. Money might have been involved.

Football's been finished as a beautiful game for decades.

But that sums up the attitude behind the ESL - wah wah only we should be allowed to dominate its not fair to get a taste of our own medicine

Sorry, what am I missing? What’s happening here that’s ‘bad for the game’ that’s hasn’t been happening forever? Football is capitalism.

None of this is a difference in kind, it’s a difference in degree. The richest clubs have always paid the most for the best players, for over 100 years

Can see us getting them in our UCL group now. They will be even more angry to see Tonali playing against them.

I’d love to have them in our group.

Reignite our Mackem in Milan song and give them a beating to help them understand why he’s signing with us.

Milan once bought for a world record fee, and nearly five times the most expensive English transfer, the best player from their nearest European competitor (the only team to beat them in Europe in 6years) at the height of Berlusconi's then unlimited sums and their dominance.

Bet it was just fine then.

*to say nothing of sabotaging the floodlights to get a game called off that they were losing to said team.

I get it, basically La Liga (Barca and Real) alongside the PL have the pulling power and finances to take the best talent from every other league. Not really sure what the answer is but it’s not a shitty league that allows the very best clubs to become even bigger while the others rot

Seria A teams can’t even fill up their stadiums, and I am talking about the top teams in the league. It is not our fault if they can’t generate revenue from TV viewership or ticket sales.
