Fraser, Hendrick, Hayden, Lascelles oot

Nico and Silva in

:fwap:

As much as I would love Silva don’t think there’s any chance, at least not this window, apparently release clause is 85 million.

As we seen with Chelsea and the Enzo deal they’re tough negotiators and would probably want it all upfront to trigger.

My worry with Silva is letting his agent anywhere near our club. Picking a player with great character is very important but not far behind is the agent also. Not keen on Mendes though I know there are possibly worse.

Harwood-Bellis would be ideal if Lascelles did go. Quality CB that can play out from the back and wouldn't need to be starting immediately.  Type of signing that should have fans frothing at the gash

May as well sign Cole Palmer for the right wing as well

Could be that Fulham didn’t agree to the obligations we wanted. As a position we’re overstocked there.

we only have the one specialist LB at the club.

granted he hasnt been starting, but all the others are players who can play LB.

hopefully Hall will be the answer long term.

Burn, Hall, Richie and Dummett can all do a job there. Not specialised but if it allowed the flex to do the Williams / Silva dream ticket along with Lascelles, Hendrick and Hayden bringing cash into the coffers or wages saved, then all for it.

Wouldn’t want to see either Ritchie or Dummy playing especially not at left back.

loaning Targett doesn’t make any sense for us on the face of it.

Doesn’t loan to buy with certain criteria allow you to book a profit for FFP? Makes sense financially if not positionally.

Not an impactful one no. A loan with an obligation could help but that would be for the next financial period.

Cheers. I recall them saying that the Lewis Hall deal would help Chelsea out as they’d be able to do that, but maybe misconstrued.

Makes complete sense to remove a third choice specialised left back on 100k/week.

It would massively benefit us on FFP if we could get someone to pay the majority of his wages this season, getting him league games/exposure and sell next season

I’ve only seen dubious sources quote this mental wage. Also, given he’s only been here 1 year a transfer now might end up putting us in a worst position FFP wise.

He only signed a 4 year deal, so we’d have to only recoup half his fee next season to be even. Then we’d still have his wages as FFP savings.

I agree though reported 100k seems dubiously high, but it’s widely reported

He’s a player we basically need our money back on, and even then it doesn’t free up much in terms of a budget to get someone else in.

I can see why people would want to shift him, but I think unless we can make a profit on him we keep him for another year.

Agreed. Also from a squad strength (in depth) perspective selling him now makes little sense, whilst Hall has not yet even made his debut. I’d revisit the situation in January.

Said it before but I'd be shocked if Targett is still here come September. Without him we have; Burn, Hall, Livramento and Trippier (and Dummett if we are feeling suicidal) who can all play left back.

You don't always get a choice on the best time to cash in on a player. If we get a good offer now, he's gone. I wouldn't let him leave on loan unless it's an obligation to buy.

If we get 12m+ I think we sell and it may free us up for one more. ?
