NUFC Transfer Rumours

This lad isn’t the answer very marked difference between him and Gordon in potential. In my opinion we do need something different on the right and most wingers have their flaws, but don’t see anywhere near the work ethic Howe requires in his wide men with Madueke.

Be bizarre to sell Gordon now the FFP pressure is off. Young, on a long contract, value will increase and most importantly delivers on the pitch and set to improve on the pitch.

Honestly can’t see the football side of the management or the Saudi overlords thinking this is a good idea, be staggered if it happened.

Liverpool are just having a bit of fun at Newcastle’s expense

Gordon's contract expires in 2026. If he's not signing a new one we'll have to sell him to maximise value.

This is massive. I think we're going to hang on to him this summer (unless a stupid offer comes in), but you could say we're taking quite a risk. Imagine he gets a bad injury this year and spends most of it on the sidelines. We'd be going into next summer transfer window with a depreciated asset on his last year of contract, unless he was willing to commit to us long term before then. Realistically if an offer we can't refuse does come in we are going to have to consider if we are willing to take such a risk, or go for certainty and take one step back to take two steps forward.

If your employer tried to get rid of you to a bigger company where you’d be on more money and it’s a company you grew up loving (!) - what would your reaction be?! He’s a Liverpool fan and only has two years left on his contract.

Hopefully his head hasn’t been turned though and he’s over it! I’d hate him to go to but especially to those wankers!

The FFP pressure isn’t off, it just isn’t catastrophically bad.

Unfortunately this is true. Not sure we'll be able to offer him the same contract Liverpool will either, but we can still make him wait until the next window if he really has his heart set on Liverpool.

I really dont trust this.

We signed him in 2023 January with a "long term deal". 3,5 half years? Why would we do that?

This.

No way AGs contract is shorter than 5-6yrs.

It’s all been very easy for the press to speculate about this because we haven’t heard from him in months. He’s due back from holiday soon at which point we’ll get to hear what he actually thinks. Liverpool journos are desperate for this to happen but so much of it doesn’t make sense. He’s full of ambition, that’s about it. Pretty sure we’ll be trying to qualify for the CL and to win a cup this season. He’s never said anything other than he absolutely loves the city and the club. If he was to go then we get a massive amount of money for him and the club will use 100% of it to make sure we end up in a better position.

He's going nowhere.  Scouse journalists shit stirring!  It will backfire on them.

That figure of 3.5 years is fairly specific. Where would someone have got that from? I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down if it's not true, it's been circulating for a few weeks now.
