Think we end up signing one of these (Kelleher or Trafford), probably in the Summer. Think if it's Trafford then Pope will likely stay number 1 for another season with Trafford being phased in slowly. If it's Kelleher time will likely be up for Pope, he is only going somewhere he gets to be number 1. 

 

Just for the team to determine if Trafford's ceiling if higher than Kelleher, who is definitely the better keeper at the moment.

I can't think of a time that us signing Liverpool's 3rd choice keeper has ever been a disaster...

For my sins, I’m a season ticket holder at the Aviva so I’ve seen a lot of Kelleher. He’s a steal at 20 million, excellent with his feet. I have no idea if Trafford could become better in time, but right now Kelleher is well ahead. People will get fixated on that one mistake against us, but he was brilliant on the run for Liverpool prior to that.

Much prefer Kelleher to Trafford. If he’s available for under say £30m then it’s a no brainer.

We have had 15 years of drab misery crushed under the oppressive fat of that corpulent leech. We had very little to look forward to and that has seeped deep into each and every one of us. Now, if we were allowed to have a sudden burst of excitement that might be catastrophic for us. It would like be taking a shedload of molly all at once when you've been straight edge and miserable for years. The PL are being incredibly responsible.

 

I mean, not really. They're just corrupt arseholes but it wouldn't suprise me if they came out with this as an excuse to keep us in a stranglehold whilst their darlings spend what they like.

I don’t think we’ll sign anyone. I don’t think it will be a complete disaster if we don’t.

 

If/when Dubs goes that changes the equation slightly, but apart from the obvious problem of backup to Isak (which we’re never solving in this window anyway) there’s not an urgent need for bodies.
 

Areas like right wing and right centre back we’ve found solutions - however temporary they may be - within the existing squad that are working. The club aren’t going to play Russian roulette with PSR again just because people still aren’t comfortable with Jacob Murphy starting every match.

I’m starting to feel like not much will happen. January windows were always difficult but with these ridiculous PSR rules it’s pretty much killed the January window anyway. Unless there’s someone who suddenly becomes available it feels like it’s going to be difficult to do anything significant without putting us into a situation where we’re forced to sell before June 30th or whenever it is to avoid a points deduction.

I don’t think Barnes will sit on the bench forever and Bruno might well stay if we have champions league. That said if we won the league cup he might feel like “job done” and then move on.

They sold Alvarez for 85m in the summer without signing a replacement.
