Any prospective owner should put down a deposit of the clubs value in a holding account, then buy the club at the same value. If said owners fuck the club over, then they forfeit their deposit. Something needs to be done because clubs are being completely stifled (all on purpose, ofc). An alternative system would be, any clubs objecting to us spending money on a player, put it in writing, then they all contribute funds equal to that amount to the PL coffers so the money we would have put in isn't lost to the game, and that way it keeps getting circulated in a healthy manner. Obviously we would need to be compensated for the player we have lost so maybe they should double their contributions so we can get reimbursed as well for our losses. SUPERTOON
Out of interest, why would we suddenly have more chance of signings come summer, wouldn’t our financial situation be pretty much the same, minus some savings on wages for those leaving on a free ? Southampton will be relegated by then so players like Dibling might be cheaper also.

Think we have a year we went heavily in minus drop off the PSR calculation, although we might also get fucked by the wages/turnover rule - I’m not sure tbh

Quite a few out of contracts, the ballache loss from that first transfer window we needed to do to stay up, plus distressed sellers.

Why would we have traded a starter for a RCB backup (albeit the future at the position)? Doesn't really make sense. Because it’s not a like for like swap in the monetary sense. We bring in a Guehi-priced player and have to sell a purple for big money, but the rub is that the purple sale opens us up for at least another player in that 50+ bracket too (along with the Geuhi-priced player). It's a whole different world now due to FFp but if it allowed us PSR transfer funds how much would you sell your sole for? I would imagine that the naming rights were fucked by Ashley naming the stadium Sports Direct Arena or whatever the fuck it was but not because of the noise it made but more likely because of the noise it didn’t make. Everyone just called it St James Park still. Why is someone going to throw a fuckload of cash at naming a stadium and your company name won’t even be used? I’d imagine it’s another reason we’re getting a new stadium.

Joelinton7
I’ve just resigned myself to the fact that we’ll not be signing anyone of significance until summer 2026. Going off what Eddie says. People say he lies but he’s been very consistent with this message. He hasn’t given that date specifically but has said “things should look very different for us (on the positive side) after this summer”.
toontownman
I still retain a deep level of calm post takeover. Doesn't mean I dont get pissed off to the hilt but I think I have that inner peace that even if things go shit we shouldn't get relegated and their is next year and the year after. Not sure that's a great attitude to have Got into but we are still inevitable imo. It's just a slow build. I'd rather we were moving quicker. I expect PIF and everyone associated with the club feels the same. I think we will take the time to do it by the book as best we can and smartly. We have great minds and great backing. I'm still enjoying the ride without that shite Ashley dread that the club is dying and might go under.

KennyUtd
It's season 2035/36 and Newcastle's Eddie Howe is confident the club will be able to spend in the summer transfer window. " Since we first bought Sandro Tonali we've been seriously restricted by the top 6, I mean PSR rules. Selling him back to Milan, via his short stint at Man City, and now buying him back again has meant our current budget isn't as big as we hoped. We'd love to bring in a right winger but might have to stick with Fabian Schar who has been a revelation since I first played him there 5 years ago" Newcastle's hunt for their first major trophy in a hundred years goes on. Lush Vlad
Every thread on here at the minute is the same. No actual updates on a player leaving or transfer rumours on any ins and outs. It’s not even wish lists or who might be available, either. Just every thread descending into PSR shite and why we can’t buy anyone and how the summer won’t be any better. Maybe it’s just this place after a loss and with only one game per week. But the football section has been dead and depressing as fuck this week. Also no real news or updates to discuss.
