Optimistic Nut Posted Friday at 14:49 Share Posted Friday at 14:49 In a scenario where we get Rigg this summer, he's one where we wouldn't have to loan out for games because he's already had plenty of first-team football at a good level. Sunderland fans already saying he's looking burned out, we could use him in the Miley role next summer as 5th choice CM, he'd get some PL & cup football while learning Eddie's way, without worrying about burning out. Even send Miley out on loan for the season so he gets game time, 26/27 when there's possibly a first team spot or two up for grabs, they might be ready. An injury to any of the top three lads and he’s arguably next in line.
Optimistic Nut Posted Friday at 14:54 Share Posted Friday at 14:54 I was thinking next year if we had Rigg. We could take advantage of the loan market to get depth in the 5th/6th choice roles for a year while he gets regular football?

And should get significantly more game time anyway with the additional European games.
Fak Posted Friday at 15:22 Share Posted Friday at 15:22 Reports in Spain (?) reported that Spurs bid £38m for Rigg. (which Le Bris has denied)

(which Le Bris has denied) Crazy figure Spurs did the same for that Leeds youngster so wouldn't be surprised Chelsea and Spurs are too focused on the talented youngster strategy - where they'll even pay top dollar. At least with Brighton and Bournemouth they're getting them cheap, so it's lower risk.
Ketsbaia Posted Friday at 15:35 Share Posted Friday at 15:35 Even if it matches another team's accepted bid, why would Sunderland accept ours? I don't think there's a release clause involved.

James Posted Friday at 17:17 Share Posted Friday at 17:17 If securing Rigg meant loaning Miley to the Mackems for a season, would you do it?

Doctor Zaius Posted Friday at 17:43 Share Posted Friday at 17:43 It's a moot point because there is no way they'll sell him to us

Time wasters. Some part of my brain always makes me think Lewis-Skelly plays for Liverpool. I think because it sounds like Scally. Anyone else have this issue? STM Posted Friday at 17:56 Share Posted Friday at 17:56 I want us to sign Rigg but I couldn't give a fuck if he never played for us. I just think a 40m price tag is worth winding the mackems up.

SUPERTOON Posted Friday at 18:40 Share Posted Friday at 18:40 Would be a great signing, won’t come to be second fiddle behind Isak though.

Especially when he has a reasonable chance of being the main CF at every club in the league bar us and Man City (and maybe Forest 😬🤣).

Whitley mag Posted Friday at 18:58 Share Posted Friday at 18:58 If we get CL football we need 2 top drawer strikers to rotate, or the season will end up a write off like last season.

Second fiddle behind Isak for how long though? Regardless of which European competition we end up in next season there's going to be plenty of minutes to go round and the season after, who knows whether Isak is still around to play second fiddle to? kingxlnc Posted Friday at 19:11 Share Posted Friday at 19:11 (edited) Why do people think Delap won’t want to be second choice to Isak? He’s 21, surely he would learn a ton from one the best strikers in the world and being coached by Howe. It’s not like he’s 26-27 and first choice at a top or even middling club. It would be a great move for him? Whereas David I understand to an extent Edited Friday at 19:11 by kingxlnc
