Usually the names we end up signing have all been linked weeks and months before we actually sign them. Isak was the most concrete one. First thing we heard about it was that a fee had been agreed. STM Posted Saturday at 13:24 Share Posted Saturday at 13:24 I wonder if we signed Cunha for 60m, whether we'd allow Barnes to leave? I'd reckon we get 30m for Barnes and whilst we wouldn't have gained a player to the squad, it would be an excellent piece of trading IMO. We could still go after a RW. Tonali I'd say. Was all noise coming out about Barella then Tonali ended up coming out the wash.

I remember the emphatic denials by forum favourite @Milanista along the lines of "Let me be clear - you're not signing Tonali.". And then he signed. Good times. Skeletor Posted Saturday at 13:47 Share Posted Saturday at 13:47 I remember the Cabaye transfer. Literally just out of nowhere that the deal was done and we were all shocked because it was Mike Ashley

Mazzy Posted Saturday at 14:58 Share Posted Saturday at 14:58 Wages would be astronomical. Chelsea surely the only ones capable of it. Other than ManUtd but I doubt he'd do that. I'd absolutely have him here for a season before he goes off to MLS or wherever.

Displayname Posted Saturday at 15:06 Share Posted Saturday at 15:06 Mbeumo fits all the boxes for me. Played every single minute in the PL this year, 1 injury in the last 5 years, can replace Isak when needed, stable goal points return and its only getting better. Joelinton7 Posted Saturday at 22:13 Share Posted Saturday at 22:13 (edited) He’d been linked briefly quite a while before. There was certainly no fervour or expectancy at his imminent signing. I remember checking here the morning of and there was nothing at all incoming wise. Checked again on my lunch break and it said fee agreed Edited Saturday at 22:15 by Joelinton7
KaKa Posted Saturday at 23:36 Share Posted Saturday at 23:36 DCL reps been in touch to see if we're still interested after the PSR Minteh deal fell through last summer. Apparently he wants to join. Wages would be £100,000 a week. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-resurrect-dominic-calvert-31401967 Jonathan David links still doing the rounds too, but will need Champions League apparently. If Wilson leaves on a free as expected, looking like we'll be after one of the two on a free to replace him.

Dr.Spaceman Posted yesterday at 06:26 Share Posted yesterday at 06:26 If he's on similar wages to Wilson (assuming he's leaving) I think it's a massive win for us
Mazzy Posted yesterday at 07:16 Share Posted yesterday at 07:16 David could go two ways I feel like. He's got a World Cup next summer that he'll want to be a big part of. So I could easily see him dismissing going anywhere that he won't be first choice and playing every week. On the other hand he may take it as a chance to play a little less than his usual 35+ games next season by being back up to Isak so that he's got more chance to be fit and ready for the tournament in the summer. Shak Posted yesterday at 07:21 Share Posted yesterday at 07:21 I may be wrong but I don’t imagine that the competition for starting places in the Canadian team is particularly brutal.
