kingxlnc Posted yesterday at 09:37 Share Posted yesterday at 09:37 (edited) Feel it's been a while since we've had a good German in the team, same with Portugal. Also not had a Turk since Emre. And have we ever had a decent Belgian? We tend to sign in groups/patterns, Coloccini and Gutierrez Argentinians, Cisse and Ba Senegal, the french lot under Pardew, Wijnaldum, De Jong and Williams, Spaniards under Benitez, now Bruno and Joelinton. As nothing is happening and the window is closed - which countries would you like to sign someone from? Edited yesterday at 09:38 by kingxlnc

alexf Posted yesterday at 09:53 Share Posted yesterday at 09:53 Kudus would be good for us on the right. His best position and gets shunted to the left for WH to accommodate Bowen. But like many transfers, the time to sign him was for £30m the same time West Ham got him. Now they would want £50-60m.

Don't think we've signed anyone from abroad since Tonali? Hardly signed anyone since we signed Tonali mind.
Mazzy Posted yesterday at 10:09 Share Posted yesterday at 10:09 The gears are starting to turn now. The gears are fucking massive though so it's going to take a while for the wheels to get into motion. Then it's just a the small matter of getting those wheel moving through the tar pit we are stuck in and then up and out of the massive hole we fell into. Easy stuff. Makes no sense since takeover the PL players generate the noise with the media, but Bruno, Isak, Tonali, Minteh were pretty much BOOM!
KaKa Posted yesterday at 11:17 Share Posted yesterday at 11:17 One of the most annoying thing about negotiating with Prem clubs, is that they will drag it on throughout the summer, and so we're looking at not getting players in early if we are insisting on this. No surprise that all the deals we are seeing done early are with players being brought in from outside of the Prem. Be interesting to see if we have an earlier cut of point to avoid the nonsense that took place with Guehi last year.

Super Duper Branko Strupar Posted yesterday at 11:50 Share Posted yesterday at 11:50 Yeah but his reported is higher, so we save more than if we get his actual wages off. Howay, Venks. Simple maths.

Getting them fit, used to our team ethos, used to the players around trhem, our tactics. It's likely Pope will still start for some time and gently introduce any new GK slowly. Well I am fine with that generally. But I said I think he is overcautious sometimes. I gave the example of keep starting Wilson over Osula when it has become pretty clear Wilson is spent now. I already said I don't think GK is a priority position for us anyway so I would be fine with Pope starting as no 1 next season.
