I can launch a triple swoop for Sweeney, Daddario and Robbie but we all know how it’s going to go

If you had to pick one, who would it be and why?

And please attach relevant images to help explain your choices

Grok, please put Margot Robbie's head on Sweeney's body, and give her Daddario's eyes.

That would essentially be around £140m though :D

Who the hell would we sign as CB? Or is that going to be this summers RW position. After not signing one last summer, we don't this summer, and roll with Schar, Botman, Burn and Lascelles still :D

Hopefully (if we pull off this ridiculous triple swoop) we've identified someone we can still afford to bring in as an understudy at the very least. Other teams pick up PL ready players for under £10m, there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to do so as well. Hell, we've done it in the past with Schar, Lejeune & Fernandez, all good players for us and picked up relatively cheap for the time they were signed.

He’s on holiday. Probably written before he put his OOO on yesterday in fairness.

Might that be affected by when a purchase is made? For example if one of those purchases was before the end of June it would fall into a differing year for PSR purposes wouldn't it ?

Remarkably unimaginative and, I imagine, expensive

I'm not sure 'imagination' should be a characteristic of major purchases. If you're equating 'imagination' to 'where the player currently plays football', then it contradicts the need to identify players who represent a guarantee of success. We can't afford to gamble, basically, and the players most likely to guarantee a success are already in the Premier League. That's also why they're expensive.

Save imagination for the development squad.

No doubt it would improve us, but there is not a single name in that lot that really excites me. I think Trafford and Pedro have the potential to be top players. Elanga I’m not sure is a good fit for what we need, and Guehi I’m far from convinced about. For the outlay of probably around 200m I’d not be overly excited. Not that I think we have anything like that amount to spend anyway.

Would massively improve our squad depth though which is what we need really , we know our first 11 is one of the best in the league so it dosnt need huge upgrades. What we actually need is a proper squad and if we got them players we would be a far far better side with plenty of cover for injuries and not having to run players into the ground .

Trafford, Elanga, Pedro and a CB without the need to sell (if the article is accurate) would be an incredible window. Some serious depth, pace and skill added to the squad.

What can I say, I like the tie in between a blood sucking, miserable, profit before human capital organisation and their peers from the Alien universe.

Fair enough lad. I should be happy that I've finally done something remotely influential in my long parthetic life.

It's great for the squad, would need to bring in some young players though because following summer we're in a similar boat to 2024 potentially. Not many sellable assets (unless they're our key players) and need to replace many in squad (RB/LB, CB, Back up GK, CM ideally in 2026).

Does feel a bit that we are positioning ourselves with a strong 16, that if a eye catching offer comes in for say Gordon, Barnes or Joelinton, we are more inclined to accept because we'd be in a better position of strength to deal with it.

If we got those 3 plus Scalvini - perfect.

Then I'd just like another midfielder, even on loan, and even if a Norgaard back up type.

I do think Longstaff's race has been run here. Willock too, so some fresh energy in the middle would be very needed.
