NUFC Transfer Rumours

Logic. Why would psg give us a £60m player on loan? Then have to spend £130m+ on his replacement.

Also it’s hypothetical why would there be evidence? It’s all wild speculation every single bit of it  We don’t even know if PSG would be willing to pay £130-£150m for Isak

Yes, but I didn't say Ramos is coming on loan or Isak is going to PSG.  However, you categorically ruled out Ramos joining on loan without justification or evidence, circumstantial or otherwise.

I just explained justification to you. They are a football club that has to deal with PSR not a charity. It makes no logical sense to loan us Ramos to then also give us £150m for Isak. Loan with obligation to buy maybe but otherwise I can’t see it

I just wouldn’t put all that much stock into these Ramos rumors to begin with. Don’t see why PSG would sell given they don’t need the money and he is very good in his role for them.

Journos also have some incentive to blow our striker links out of proportion because it all feeds into the Isak-Liverpool clickbait machine that I’m sure is lucrative for everyone.

They can get a decent fee and put him in the Premier League shopping window.

Might accept it if they didn't get any other decent offers for him.

Don't think they would ever pay £130m+ for Isak though.

It's bigger than Isak man. You don't 'just get rid' at this point unless it's to another club abroad.

Of course it’s bigger than Isak. That’s the point. If it’s better for the team because we can get a first choice striker in, of good enough quality in Eddies mind, then we do it. Isak is done at Newcastle.

Will never be Ramos + cash in this PSR environment though. Would have to be to separate deals

PSG buy Isak for £120M and we buy Ramos for £80M.

Fair deal for everybody involved?

You think it's good for Newcastle that every player, agent and club knows that all a player needs to do is just refuse to play to force a move and we'll do it? That we'll even sell them to a future domestic rival who tapped him up, bought our number 1 replacement, and used him, his agent and the media to try and drive the fee down and make the transfer happen?

I don't think that's good for Newcastle at all. The best thing for Newcastle now would be to continue with the other business it needs to do, then get rid of Isak on Newcastle's terms and in a way that ensures no player, agent or club ever tries this shit with us ever again.

Do you have any example of this happened to a club who has let go of a player that refused to play?

Could be right it’s just a shame one of our very own journalists is still keeping the story going , it’s almost like Craig Hope wants Liverpool to buy Isak

If Craig Hope was a Harry Potter character, he'd be a Dementor

I can't think of another example that's as bad as this one, let alone one where the club has also caved tbh. If we sold him to Liverpool this summer we'd be in uncharted territory, but the precedent it sets is so clear that I would think it's a big part of the reason clubs tend not to cave.

If Eddie Howe thinks it’s worth selling him because we do get a strong enough replacement, yes. That would be on our terms. Being worried about ridicule from Twitter and TikTok gobshites means nothing. People were laughing at us for signing Dan Burn. How did that work out?

I understand your point, but there aren’t many players who will behave like Isak has done.

I couldn't care less about ridicule tbf, it's solely about the precedent it sets. If we go along with this now there's a good chance something similar will happen again.

Fair enough. But that’s what I was replying about. I’d trust Eddie Howe to do what’s best for the club.

I'll tell you a wee story. My grandma received fertility treatment to stop popping out kids. A year or two later my mother popped out. Then 16 years and 4 months later I popped out. This makes me an anomaly, a freak of nature. I should never have been born and this is made obvious by the way I am, socially awkward, overly emotional and not liking being in my own skin.

My mother should have aborted me or at the very least put me up for adoption. She only had me to try and hang onto an uninterested father (didn't work lol) and not have to work. She more than made it obvious that I wasnt wanted. She even once said to me that she wished she'd put me up for adoption. I was maybe 7 or 8 at the time she said that. I got away from her as quick as possible but fate laughs at me once more by placing me in a flat directly across the road from her. Life is funny 😁

When I feel I'm struggling with my mental health (struggling may not be the right word in comparison to your situation) I reach for a book by Sam Delaney called 'Sort your head out: Mental health without all the bollocks'.

I tend to read it in the run up to Christmas and find it really helps me.

It's often on offer for 99p on Amazon and I highly recommend it.

Good luck in the future and remember we are all here to help if you need to unload.
