It was a genuine question, but I commented again to see it had already been answered. £0 spend.

Yeah, it’s a funny one that we’ve had three ex-Bournemouth players working with Howe, but he either didn’t sign them or they were free :)

Who have we actually signed from Bournemouth under Howe? Anyone?

I'll give you a couple of clues. But you have to swear down on your nanna's life that you won't go using AI to find the answers.

He doesn't play for Newcastle but he plays in black n white stripes.

And we didn't give Bournemouth any money for him, but he was a Bournemouth player immediately before we signed him.

Right, who’s going?

Quite telling that he chooses that as a moment to talk about attitude, commitment to the team etc

More than 3 ex-Bournemouth played for Howe's NUFC innit.

Wilson, Ramsdale, Wee Man, Ritchie, Kelly

Can also see us cash in on Woltemade if his stock is high after the Word Cup. Willock will probably also leave.

The most important thing is a very good goalkeeper, then we have to fix the bad contracts somehow. Buying Woltemade and Wissa was the biggest mistake, we paid a lot and their weekly salaries are very high, especially if we compare them with our other players, for example Miley, Hall, Livramento get the same amount as Wissa. Who was the smart one who put this together? Elanga, Ramsey didn't bring any extras, Rayan would have been worth that much too, who we didn't buy. Miley has improved a lot, he is currently one of our best, he has solved the role of right-back nicely. Hall has also performed well, we definitely have to keep them. We have set similar goals as Villa, they will probably start in the CL next year, and it is possible that they will win a European cup this year. They will strengthen a lot in the summer, and it is not excluded that they will stay in the top 6 permanently. Our situation has worsened now, it will be difficult, but I hope next season will be better, and for this we will need significant reinforcements, whether with or without Howe is a good question.

If we want to get into the top 6, we need to make big changes here. We spent a lot of money but we didn't get any stronger, several of our players played below their ability and Howe wasn't very good either.

Add Willock and J Murphy - we are getting next to no performances from these two

I am adding Joelinton if a good offer comes in

Schar - Trippier - LB are positions we need to fill (Methalie, Coulibaly etc)

Its a huge summer but one that is required due to inactivity in summer 2024 and the disaster that was summer 2025 - at least 5 transfer windows we’ve fallen short in due to there being next to no plan or any joined up thinking

I really hope I haven't to endure any ' Willock looks to have turned a corner and is looking like the player he used to be' musings next season, please just collect the 25 mill

£25m is extremely optimistic.

At this point you could well argue that we need a new starter for every single position bar left-back. And in that position we need a good backup. But based on our proclivities and recent actions in the transfer market it is very hard to see us buying ten or twelve players. If some of the expected departures occur one of the knock-on effects might be that we have to keep certain players who we might otherwise be better off selling.

If Tonali goes we probably need a new midfielder and it's probably more likely that Willock stays. I think it would be a good time to sell Barnes who surely retains some value but just doesn't contribute enough over ninety minutes. Yet if Gordon goes we are already scrambling for a new left winger. A goalkeeper is an absolute must and you're really looking at additions all across the back line and that's before the torturous situation up front and on the right wing.

It wasn’t that deep.

I said let’s buy Bournemouth, I said it because we’ve had loads of former Bournemouth players here.

You said we haven’t given Bournemouth any money since Howe joined.

I added that we haven’t beaten Bournemouth since Howe joined, so that strengthened my argument for buying Bournemouth. They can’t beat us if we own them and absorb them into NUFC.

At no point did I say anything about Howe being tarnished. I only said let’s buy Bournemouth.

"let's buy Bournemouth" might have made a bit sense if we had actually been buying players from them, is all.

He's got a year left on his contract. I think we'll do well to get £15m.

My suggestion of "let's buy Bournemouth" doesn't make any sense full stop, I was just talking shite.

This. We’ll get the same sort of fee we did for Longstaff.
