What's Eddie (as an individual) done specifically in the past that concerns you?

I'm 100% Eddie in, however he did seem to let the situation with Isak drag on last year which affected the rest of the close season, Hopkinson has already said we need to let players go this summer, lets just get on with it and replace them.

I don’t think the manager is going to be the only decision maker for the sale of the most valuable asset we’ve had for decades. It goes way beyond Howe.

I imagine his position did change a bit as the thing dragged on, particularly after he went on strike.

Howe would have been the deciding factor IMO. I think he wanted him out of Newcastle once he'd shown he was determined to leave. But PIF should have stood firm at the end of the day, and that means they take ultimate responsibility.

I don’t think Howe was trying to keep Isak. We didn’t receive a decent bid until late in the window. The reason it dragged on was because Liverpool were using dirty tricks to drive down the price.

I think it was more the top brass than Eddie that dragged it out. They even went round to Isak's house to try and persuade him to stay.

That was a disaster. Ultimately they should just have made a decision early in the summer and stuck to it. If Liverpool could meet the asking price, pay it by a certain date, otherwise he's not for sale. If he refused to play, make him train alone for a few months until he's ready to come back.

Good call/spot. Thought he was top class (and very much a NUFC/Howe type) in most recent Euros.

Love the energy and aggression he plays with, but he's also got quality.

Good both sides and upfront. Also decent experience now at 25. Article says around £25 million.

Would be a great deal for someone. Lets see if it's Newcastle.

Been very impressed when I have seen him, surely he will cost a lot more than £25 million?

Don't think I've ever seen his fee quoted higher than around £35 million previously, and he is now going into the final two years of his current contract from this summer.

A Turkish lad called iron man is surely not messing about. Would sign

I'll give him 2 months before he gets banned for racist remarks during a match.

Reminds me of a cross between Elanga and Ryan Fraser on his highlights, looks like a baller

Does not compute

One of the reasons was we wouldn't sell until we had a replacement.

We were unable to bring anyone else in for a very long time, hence the late departure.
