He had belief in him, but most importantly he played in a more transitional team where he could use his best attributes to his advantage, and that's not his technical ability. So long as wage demands aren't outrageous, a decent season could also up his resell (think Kelly to Juve). It's not like we have to keep him for donkeys years.
