NUFC Transfer Rumours

It reads so poorly. Just a scatter brained listing of some names that have been doing the rounds, and what the club may do, if this or that happens, but may not do, if that or the other happens instead. Covering all bases.

If the planning of the recruitment team is that haphazard and uncertain then we are cooked.

That’s what it’s exactly meant to be. A quick and simple to read weekly update/list of players we are confirmed looking to sell/buy that will grow and shrink as the window goes on. It’s not meant to be a submission for the Pulitzer Prize

I'll have nothing bad said about our planning and recruitment team, I've already read about what a great job they've done selling one of our most saleable assets.... to Barcelona.   We might not be able to actually buy anyone without months and months of protracted, in-public narrative but credit where credit is due, we're getting good players out yhe door quickly

At Lille, after a slow first season, David become a 25-goal striker. For all these reasons, Juventus is looking elsewhere, but with much less anxiety than with the Openda case, and some in Europe are tempted by the idea of relaunching the Canadian. The stumbling block is his €6 million salary. Few can afford it. PSG, led by his discoverer Luis Campos, is considering a swap deal with Kolo Muani, while Newcastle and Crystal Palace are also in the running. Spalletti would prefer a more robust nine than Jonathan, and an offer around €25 million would guarantee a nice capital gain for the Old Lady.

So a Reverse Lloyd Kelly?

He doesn't even seem to have any real idea of the positions the club are looking at or anything.

As for the rest of it, might as well just go by every single position and what players have been linked each week around the globe. That would be much simpler and clearer to read.

At the minute it's not even that. A lot of the latest links aren't even on there, while players from January are still being thrown in.

It's so bad [emoji38]

I was in love with Smit in January. He looked like the second coming of De Bruyne, but my excitement has dimmed since.

EDIT: Jonathan David would be good fun, but at 100k a week (rough maths) that's a big investment. I'd be up for trying it if we can find Wissa a new home.

£100k is nothing these days, especially for a forward.  We're paying Wissa a lot more than that.

How good is Jonathan David? Always sounds like someone people have just signed on FIFA for the last 7 years.

I'd be happy with him for 25-30m and as a Wissa replacement.

No idea how good he is but he must be about 45 by now. Seem to have been hearing his name mentioned every year for over a decade.

Would be happy with David up front good pedigree and 25m is cheap

Me too and agreed, but I doubt that's the price he actually goes for.

He's better than he's shown at Juve, have seen him play for our National Team. I'd liken him to João Pedro in striking style, with more playmaking ability. I'd expect the same output for his expected wage demands.
