Out of the 3, he's the only one with upside at this stage (not saying I want to see him go). Wissa and Wolt leaving, unless they both have unbelievable WC's, looks less likely as we'd eat hefty losses financially. That’s why I think none go unless it’s for spinning money. Osula going only means another 3rd choice prospect coming in it doesn’t mean Wissa gets knocked down a spot. We’ll be pay for last years shite summer for seasons to come Edited Tuesday at 17:43 by gdm

I guess it depends to what extent, if any, they turn the taps off. Suppose it's inevitable someone goes big on Salah over there first up. I'm still laughing at Vlahovic saying the other week he was waiting for Barcelona or Bayern! Apparently the candidates in the upcoming presidential election at Fenerbahce have promised Lewandowski and Mason Greenwood should they win love a good bit of overseas club politicking

nufcjmc Posted Tuesday at 18:34 Share Posted Tuesday at 18:34 I think only a few months ago cashing in on osula the one only likely to turn a profit would be a no brainer. However a combination of can we peddle one of the other 2 and would we get an acceptable offer that's not financially crippling. Plus the narrative at least given say by Craig no hope is why sell osula to buy another osula. I disagree with the narrative though if osula can fund a replacement and upgrade even if wissa stays we could utilise wissa on the wings or big nick in a 10 and have room to accommodate another forward. I fear we are going to gamble on osula trajectory continuing and a massive uplift from one of wissa or big nick or both.

lovejoy Posted Tuesday at 20:02 Share Posted Tuesday at 20:02 What am I missing with Lewis Hall? wasn’t he pulled out for 2 games? I’m not sure how all of a sudden he’s unhappy as a result and if he is, he’s in the wrong, surely? Ben Jacobs seems to be pushing the narrative that he may feel he has a better chance of getting in the England squad if he was at Man Utd and so it is ‘one to watch’, despite Man Utd having less players in the World Cup squad than us? Yeah you're missing the hidden subtext which is lowly Newcastle are not allowed to have good players and must instantly hand over any good players to the Cartel. It's probably above what we should consider average for the club right now, but not quite touching the top tier (circa 160k per week). For that reason we can't just throw 100k at him without figuring out where that money is coming from, be it the wages saved on departed players, or from moving on Wissa and whoever we can. Putting all of that carry on to one side for a moment, I do like David as a player. I think he's far more in line with what we were looking for when we signed Wissa. This is why I never liked Wissa. So many of his goal were him pouncing on chaos that we just don't create. We needed someone with a bit of guile and subtlety to their play and Wissa has never been that. Even his first league goal for us was basically carnage in the six-yard box. It was peak Brentford.
